Rehaan’s POV:
Love.
The most impractical thing one can ever have, yet I see people dying for their loved ones every single day.
Dumbass motherfuckers.
If only they knew, there is no such thing as love. Like the fucker sitting right in front of me. Tied up, bruised, and helplessly begging me to let him go. Huh asshole didn’t think twice before trying to betray me, did he?
“P-please… L-let me g-go. I-I have a f-family to take care of.” he pleaded. I smirked.
“Oh yeah? You want me to set you free after what you tried to do huh? Hm. Interesting wish you have. Now tell me what the f**k were you doing in my cabin without my f*****g permission?” his eyes widened at my words.
“You thought you could sneak in behind my back and I wouldn’t know? I know you were trying to find something. Right?” I walked to him and punched his face breaking his nose.
“N-no I wasn’t doing a-anything i-in your cabin. W-why would I-I go there without y-your permission?” He cried out.
“Tsk tsk tsk, You were not in my cabin in the morning? You think I’m a fool who would fall for your little games?” I landed a punch on his jaw.
“p-please let me… g-go. I-I’m sorry” I smiled at him. The poor guy thinks I’ll let him go.
No f*****g way.
“Tell me who the f**k are you working for asshole? Answer. Me. Right now.” He flinched. His eyes begged for mercy. Nice.
“You know if you won’t answer what will happen? First, I will torture you to death and after that, I’ll order my men to find your family’s location. And soon they’ll join you too. How does it sound huh?” I whispered.
“N-no no no-not my family. I-I beg you p-please. I will tell you. I will tell y-you just p-please don’t h-hurt my f-family. P-please.” He begged. His eyes filled with terror and pain.
Good.
“Spit. It. Out.” My blood boiled with anger and I resisted the urge to kill him and torture him. I pointed my gun at his head. He closed his eyes and fumbled.
“V-Vivaan… Vivaan Singhania. He told me to snatch the data and give it to him.” as soon as those words left his mouth I pulled the trigger.
The bullet passed right through his forehead and there he was lying lifeless in front of me.
Vivaan Singhania, My dad’s childhood best friend who is now my biggest rival. 2 years ago he tried to manipulate my father to get information about my security company. He wanted to be business partners with me and demanded to give half of my company’s shares. Bullshit. He really thought just because he was my dad’s childhood friend, I would give him half the shares. And now he is sending his men to gather information about the company so he can drag me down. Son of a b***h.
I made my out of the basement and reached the parking lot. Walking to my car I settled myself and quickly drove back to my office. I parked the car in the VIP area and walked towards the building. The guards bowed to me and opened the gates. As soon as I entered the building everything went pin drop silent. Everyone’s head hung low. No one dared to look at me. Unbuttoning the coat I walked towards the elevator.
Entering the lift I pressed the 20th floor and called Ranveer. He picked up after 1 ring.
“Meet me in my cabin right now,” I said. “Be right there.” He said and I hung up.
The elevator opened and walked down the hallway towards my cabin.
Ranveer Ahuja, my best friend since college years is also my PA. He is the person I trust the most in this world. He is the jerk who has been with me in every phase of my life. You can say he is more like a small brother to me and also my partner in crime. We’ve done many things together that also include killing and torturing people. He supported me in every moment of my life. He is my right hand.
I walked into my cabin and removed my coat putting it on my chair before sitting. Leaning back in the chair I relaxed. I heard a knock. “Come in,” I said and the door opened revealing Ranveer.
“You called Rehaan?” he asked. I nodded.
“Yes, I did. I want you to find every bit of information about Vivaan Singhania.” I leaned back in my chair keeping my head on the headrest.
“Ok. You’ll get it tomorrow. But why? Something happened?” he sounded concerned. I stood up from my chair.
“He sent his man to snatch information about the company. That fucker made his way into my cabin. Before he could pass any information I caught him. He must be hanging out in hell with his other buddies.” I sipped water from the glass.
“Oh my god. Why is he doing all this? He must be a fool daring to mess up with the Rehaan Malhotra! He surely has a death wish.” I chuckled at his words.
“He probably wants to drag me down because I refused his deal 2 years ago. But we need to increase the security and keep an eye on everyone.” I told him to which he just nodded.
“Get me the data tomorrow and take a leave now you’ve been working constantly,” I grabbed my coat from the chair.
“Sure thing Sir. You’ll get the data tomorrow. And yes one more thing. Mrs. Malhotra AKA your mother told me to inform you about this. Check your phone. She sent you some photos of beautiful young women. She is concerned about you just check once.” I sighed not wanting to get married anytime soon.
My mother has been trying to convince me for 3 months to get married. I am not ready to start a family and I don’t even want to get married in the first place.
I was about to leave my cabin when Ranveer spoke again.
“Rehaan, check it once goddamit! She is doing all this for your own good only. And yes she also told me one specific name. She said that she loved her and the girl was your best friend in high school. Her name is Ahana Mishra. Please just see it once ok?” I know Ranveer and Mom are tired of convincing me about this.
Just because my mother wants it, I’ll check it.
“Yeah yeah fine. Happy?” I huffed and walked out of my cabin. I stepped inside the elevator and opened my phone.
My mother sent only one photo- Ahana Mishra. I downloaded the image.
Fucking hell.
My heart skipped a beat. I took a deep breath.
What the f**k is happening? She is the same woman I once saw in my dreams.
This face has been haunting me ever since. She is gorgeous and perfect. I’ve heard this name before. I remember she is India’s most famous and most talented artist.
And wait a minute.
My mother said that she was my best friend in high school. No way. It’s impossible. She is the girl I’ve hung out with my entire childhood. I remembered her name not knowing she was the girl my mother chose for me. She is the one who has been haunting me all this time. I’ve been looking for her everywhere and my mother did it for me. A part of me wants to marry her and a part of me is telling me that she is just distracting me. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t realize I was standing in the parking lot. I walked towards my car and quickly drove back.
-
I reached my home and opened the door. I saw my little sister- Shivani running towards me.
She jumped in my arms and hugged me. “Your home finally!!” she sighed and I placed a kiss on her head. Shivani is the little monster in our family and the charm of this house.
“Bhaiya, Mom and Dad are waiting for you. They wanted to talk about something. Come on!” She said dragging me into the living room. I saw Mom and Dad sitting on the couch.
They were talking about something but stopped after they noticed me. Why are they acting weird today? “Rehaan beta come here.” Mom said. I nodded walking towards them. I unbuttoned my coat and sat on the couch.
“We all have to attend a party this weekend. And you are coming too.” Mom said and I frowned. No way. I am not attending any parties. “But maa, I have- she cut me off.
“No buts and no ifs Rehaan. You have to come. I am not asking you but telling you.” She told me and before I could say something else she spoke again.
“Rehaan please, Attend this party for me. Your father’s friend called this morning inviting all of us to his daughter’s birthday party. You can take Ranveer with you and also this is a chance for you to meet Ahana.”
OH. So it’s her birthday.
Interesting.
Though I don’t like attending parties I’m eager to meet her. I smiled in my head not wanting my family especially my sister that I wanted to meet her.
“Okay fine. I’ll join just for you maa. Happy?” I sighed as if I didn’t want to go after knowing whose birthday it was. My mother smiled at me. “Okay. Now let’s go dinner’s ready.” She said before going towards the kitchen.
Rehaan don’t you think you’re thinking too much about her? Oh shut up you bastard.
See you soon Ms. Ahana Mishra.
