“I am.”

“My name is Coltin Greezel. I am the leader of a gang in southern Illinois.”

“It’s nice to meet you.”

“You as well. I have never met a woman in charge of a gang.”

“Well, I am known for always getting the job done and it done right.”

“Yes, I have heard of your reputation. Quite impressive really.”

A lady walked up to us.

“Honey, are you going to introduce me?”

“In a moment.”

He turned back to me.

“I would like to do business with you. Here’s my card.”

He handed me a card with all of his business information.

“I will give you a call tomorrow. Right now let’s focus on making peace with everyone.”

“Spoken like a true business woman. This is my wife, Gloria.”

She stuck her hand out for me to shake.

“Pleasure to meet you.”

I shook her hand.

“The pleasure is all mine. This is my boyfriend, Kyree.”

Coltin shook his hand.

“You are with a special young woman.”

“I know. I’m one lucky man.”

He winked at me then I blushed.

Gloria said, “Young love, reminds me of when we were younger.”

“They have the same sparkle.”

Gloria giggled.

“Well, we have to meet with everyone else but I will be awaiting that call.”

“Alright.”

We smiled and walked away. We stood in a different area in the room waiting for someone else to approach us. Eventually I needed to use the restroom so I walked away. I went to the bathroom and I heard someone crying.

“Hello?”

It went silent.

“It’s alright. I won’t say anything.”

A young girl walked out of a stall. She didn’t look much older than me.

“I didn’t know what I was signing myself up for.”

“Are you okay?”

“I don’t know if I’m going to go home tonight.”

“Who did you come here with?”

“Alexander Miles.”

“Alright. Come here.” 

We walked to the small sofa there. I sat down and pulled her close to my body.

“How old are you?”

“Sixteen.”

“How did you get involved in this?”

“We met at my friend's party. He invited me to be his date and I said yes not knowing anything. Then we get here and I find out he’s a gangster and he told me that no one is going to help me.”

I shook my head. 

“He’s wrong. I’m going to keep an eye on you and I will keep you safe. I promise you.”

“Why are you helping me?”

“Because that’s my job. I protect other people, mainly women.”

We got up and I helped her fix her makeup. I used the bathroom and we walked out together. I nodded at Kyree and he walked over to us.

“What’s up?”

“We need to protect her at all costs. She’s an innocent.”

“What?”

“I’m going to get Angel but she doesn’t know anything about why she’s here and she’s in danger.”

He nodded.

“Act like nothing's wrong and pretend this didn’t happen. If he asks say I was nice in the bathroom and we clicked and I wanted you to meet my boyfriend before I forgot.”

She nodded. She left then we walked away to find Angel. As soon as I saw him I ran to him.

“Angel, we need help.”

“What’s wrong dear?”

“Alexander Miles.”

“What about him?”

“His date is sixteen and she’s an innocent.”

“She’s what? He’s damn near fourty!”

“I know. We need to get her to safety.”

“At dinner I will deal with him.”

“Thank you. We will take her to her home.”

“Good idea.”

“Thank you Angel.”

“No, thank you. You just saved that girl's life.”

I smiled. We went back to the dining room. 

“Everyone, find your seat because it’s time to eat.”

We all looked for our seats and Angel put his hand in the middle of my back guiding me to my seat. It was next to his and Kyree was next to me. Kyree pulled my chair out for me then after I sat down, he did. There was a tray in front of everyone with a lid on it, Angel loves the dramatics. 

“Now, to the newer people, I host this dinner every year to create peace between gangs. But there is one man here that is creating issues.”

Angel snapped his fingers and a few men grabbed Alexander. Kyree flinched so I grabbed his hand and shook my head.

“This man is a predator.” He walked over to the young girl and whispered something to her and took her hand. He walked her over to me. “Now, I am a man of peace, love, positivity. But this man is going to be an example of my dark side.”

Angel took a knife and slit his throat and let him slowly die on the floor. 

“Thank you, Sophia, for pointing this out to me.” He walked back to me and kissed my cheek. “This young woman is going to change the game. She is a very strong woman that looks out for other women and is also known as Ange de la Mort.”

There was chattering in the room so I stood up.

“Didn’t think I’d be so young did you? I only kill those that deserve it, and that man deserved it. Now, I am a business woman as well. But before I am a business woman I am a family woman, and tonight is about family so let’s skip the business talk and enjoy this dinner like a family. Then after dinner, we can talk business.”

I sat back down and Kyree looked proud of me. 

Angel said, “Well, you heard the young woman, let’s eat!”

The servers standing behind everyone took the lids off to reveal our dinner and boy did it look and smell good. We all started eating when Angel turned to me.

“I’m so sorry about your baby.”

“I am as well. But it was God’s way of telling me that I’m not ready yet and I need to live my life a little longer before having a baby with a man that didn’t even know the real me.” I looked at Kyree. “But, I am with someone that knows all parts of me and still wants me now.”

Angel smiled.

“I love young love. It’s always more romantic.”

I smiled.

“Well, i’m just happy that you are happy now because you deserve the best. And I’m glad your boss decided to make you his right hand because you are the perfect woman for the job.”

“Well thank you Angel. I wasn’t expecting it to happen but I’m glad it did.”

A man from the other side of the table said, “How does it feel to be a respected woman in Illinois? There are few of you.”

“Well now that I am in charge I am going to try to get more women in power because we are more than capable of being in charge of a gang and so much more.”

“What is it like?”

“It’s refreshing. I was already respected by everyone in my gang so we weren’t super surprised when I was promoted to right hand.”

“That’s not what I meant.”

“Well what did you mean?”

“Being a woman. Being looked down at by men who think that they are stronger than you?”

“Well, when I put them in their place, they know who I am and don’t test me.”

Kyree chimed in, “She’s right. She scared me the first time I saw her kill someone.”

“Who was it?”

“Classified. But she didn’t let him die fast.”

Another person chimed in, “Are you a s****l sadist?”

“No, I take no s****l pleasure in killing someone. It’s just my job.”

“So if I ordered a hit and paid you, would you take them out?”

“Possibly. It truly depends on who it is and how complicated it is.”

“So if I ordered a hit on a man that is a serial r****t in my town, would you do it?”

“Let’s talk after dinner.”

“Alright.”

“I truly did not expect you to be so young and attractive. I expected an older woman that takes her anger out on men because she’s a victim herself.”

“Well, that is partially true. I was assaulted but the man who did is running for his life from me.”

I took a sip of my champagne and continued eating. I felt Kyree’s hand on my leg so I looked at him.

He whispered to me, “You are impressively good at this.”

“I am a businesswoman baby. I have to be.”

“You are amazing.”

He kissed me cheek then we went back to eating. When dinner was over we chatted for a little while before dessert was brought out so Kyree and I stood there for a moment before we were approached by the man that was asking the majority of the questions during dinner.

“Hello, my name’s Quinton Harley. The man that is r****g and killing women in my area is causing me to lose business.”

“The day after tomorrow I will come to your town with a few of my finest to take him out. Here’s my card.”

I handed him one of my business cards that my boss had made for me. 

“I will text you the information.”

“May I ask for the name of this man?”

“Geovanni Partinni.”

I looked at Kyree and his face said it all.

“I take it you know him?”

“He’s the man that took advantage of me. I was his first victim.”

“I am so sorry darling.”

“It’s alright. We will be there to take him out.”

“Okay. How much is your usual payment?”

“Seven hundred is the cheapest. I will take three thousand to take him out.”

“It will be transferred into your account as soon as I see him dead.”

“I will kill him in front of you.”

“I would love that.”

I nodded. Kyree and I walked away.

“You can breathe now.”

He hugged me to hide my face so no one saw the hurt. 

“I can’t believe it. It’s my fault.”

“No it is not.”

“I told him to leave and then he does then he starts r****g other women.”

“That is on him not you.”

He held my face in his hands.

“It is not your fault. You were doing your job then and you are doing it now.”

He kissed me before I could say anything.

“How are you so good at calming me down?”

“I guess I just have that charm.”

I laughed at him. We went back to our seats then Angel walked back out with Cade. 

“Where is… ahh, there she is.”

Cade walked right up to me and kissed my cheek.

“Look at you, stunning as always.”

“Thank you Cade. And look at yourself, dashing.”

“Well thank you.”

He turned to Kyree.

“You are a sight for sore eyes. You two look amazing together!”

I smiled.

“I want a family picture. Dad, stand next to them.”

He called a server over and handed them his phone. Kyree wrapped his arm around my waist then Angel put his hand on Kyree’s shoulder while Cade put his hand in the middle of my back. She took a few of us then handed the phone back to Cade. He sent them to me and I smiled. We all look amazing and I couldn’t be happier.

“Time for dessert.”

We all sat down and had chocolate lava cakes with chocolate covered strawberries. It was amazing and by the time we were done eating, I was stuffed. We hung out for a little while longer before I went back to the girl.

“I never caught your name.”

“Lilith Gomez.”

I nodded my head.

“Well, Lilith, I am taking you home.”

“My parents don’t know I’m here. They think I'm at my best friends house.”

“We will take you there then.”

“Thank you.”

“Just don’t tell people about this.”

“I wasn’t planning on it.”

“Good.”

“How do you live like this?”

“I’ve lived this life since I was young. I needed to save my brother's life and my gang said, join us and we will save his life. So I did and ever since then they have been more of a family to me than my real family. After I lost my baby a few days ago, I changed a little bit.”

“How so?”

“Well, I am going to start being more of a business woman and assassin than a happy person because that’s what caused me to lose my baby.”

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s not your fault.”

“I know but it’s still a sad thing to happen.”

“Very true.”

Kyree walked up to us.

“Ready to go?”

“Yep, I just want to say bye and thank them.”

“Alright.”

We walked over to Cade and Angel. I gave each of them a hug and they told me not to hesitate to call if I need anything or want to hang out. We left and started driving to Lilith’s friends house. 

“So, how did you two meet?”

“Long story short, he’s been friends with my older brothers for a while now and after I lost my baby he was my support system. Then after I got dumped he was there for me and had my back.”

“That’s sweet of you.”

“Well I've always had a little thing for her. Even when I was just friends with her brothers I would see her around and I always thought that she was attractive but I never said anything because of how crazy her brothers are.”

We started laughing.

“But my brothers said that it’s okay with them.”

“What about your parents?”

“I haven’t talked to my father in years and I moved out of my moms house a few months ago.”

“Wow, I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay. I hated it there but I’m happier now.”

I kissed his cheek then he looked at me.

“That’s it?”

“What?”

“I get a kiss on the cheek?”

“You were driving.”

I leaned forward and kissed him on the lips.

“Happy now you big baby?”

“Yes ma’am.”

I turned and looked at Lilith.

“Do you know the meaning behind your name?”

“You mean Lilith, the mother of demons?”

“That’s what the world calls her. But she was the first wife to Adam, Adam and Eve. She didn’t want to submit to him and let him control her so she went to the garden of Eden and called God by his true name. She was banished from heaven and sent to hell. Since she couldn’t have children she would kidnap children and turn them into her children, demons. Then she started collecting semen from men to make more children which is where the story or sirens came from.”

She looked at me funny.

“How do you know this?”

“I may not look like it but I am obsessed with mythology. But to finish, there were a few angels that said to her ‘hey, take it all back and we might be able to get you back in heaven.’ She said, ‘nah f**k that and f**k you, i’m thriving now.’ And then she was written out of almost everything because men didn’t like the fact that she became the first feminist in history. Your name is deeper than just the mother of demons, she was a strong independent woman who changed history.”

“Why are you telling me this?”

“Because I believe, you can make a change and a difference in the world. Find me when you turn eighteen.”

“Why eighteen?”

“Because you’ll be able to join my gang and I can make you-”

“I don’t want to kill anyone.”

“My assistant. I’m a businesswoman and I’m going to need someone to help me.”

“I’m sorry.”

“It’s alright. I understand where you are coming from. My first kill was sloppy and hard because I didn’t want to do it but after a little while, it was easier.”

“I just don’t understand it.”

“Think about it like this, the men I kill are rapists, abusers, thugs, monsters, and killers. People that need to be taken out of the streets and I am the woman that does it.”

She nodded her head.

“I’m still in shock.”

“I know. I don’t expect you to ever not be in shock. Honestly, I am in shock everyday.”

We all went silent until she started giving directions. We got to her friends house and she thanked us before she walked inside. We waited until we were sure she was inside and safe before pulling off. He kept driving but I started drifting asleep. I fell asleep on his shoulder while he drove home.

When we got to the house he softly shook me but decided to walk around and carry me.

“Come on mamas, wrap your arms around me.”

I wrapped my arms around him and he picked me up then carried me inside. He brought me to his room and laid me down on the bed. He came back with makeup wipes and started taking my makeup off then slowly took my dress off for me. He took my heels off then put me in one of his shirts. He picked me up and set me in my spot then pulled the covers over me then changed while I laid there. 

He got into bed then pulled me closer to his body. He moved my hair out of the way then nuzzled his face in my neck like before and started falling asleep. I adjusted my legs so they were tangled with his and rubbed my butt against him to mess with him. He slid his hand down and started rubbing my butt and squeezing it while I tried so hard to not moan. He eventually flipped me onto my stomach and started grabbing and slapping my butt.

I started moaning when he kissed it before making me get into arch.

“Wait, I’m sorry.”

He started laughing. I got up and slowly walked to the bathroom while he finished changing the sheets. I went back to the room when I was done to see him lying there on his phone. 

“Hey goofy, what’re you doing?”

He looked up at me.

“Texting my boys in the groupchat. They want to hang out tomorrow.”

“Well we have a job to do in the morning but when we come back you can go hang out while I’m working. Then I can make us all some dinner so they can get to know me.”

“That sounds like a great idea.”

I crawled onto his lap while he rubbed my head. I pulled out my phone and saw that it was almost three in the morning.

“We should get some sleep. We have to be up at six to get to the bar at six thirty to make plans, drop me off at school, and as soon as I get out we go to Chicago to deal with Angel’s problem and make it back here in time for my meetings while you hang out with your friends. Then meet back at home so I can make some dinner and chill for the rest of the night.”

“You really have the whole day planned out?”

“Always.”

“I have a better idea. Put me and Cam in charge of this job and we take care of Angel’s problem while you are at school.”

“Terrible idea. You guys are going to go in there guns out instead of a more professional approach.”

“Well that’s not exactly a horrible idea.”

“It is because we don’t know what these people are capable of. I cannot lose you and my brother.”

“I’m important?”

“Yes you dumbass.”

I got up and looked at him. I kissed him and just stared into his eyes.

“I can’t lose you.”

“Okay, we will stick with your original idea.”

“Thank you.”

I moved up and put my head on his shoulder then he rested his head on mine.

“I could get used to this.”

“Used to what?”

“Us.”

I looked at him.

“Us?”

“Well if I haven’t made it obvious, I want to spend the rest of my life with you Sophia.”

“That’s a big statement.”

“And I mean it.”

He pulled me onto him so I was sitting on his lap. He rested his hands on my hips and just looked at me.

“But why? What is it about me that makes you want to be with me?”

“Everything. Everything about you is amazing and I’m drawn to it. I’m addicted to you.”

I sat there and looked at him.

“You don’t have to say anything but-”

“But nothing. I want to be with you as well. We just need to make sure it’s the right time for the both of us.”

He nodded his head.

“You’re right. So, do you want to be private or public?”

“For right now, private. But we can publicly claim each other.”

“How so?”

“We can be a normal couple but I don’t want to just announce it to the world just yet.”

“Okay.”

“Also, I want to go get a tattoo soon.”
