Chapter Five: Home Sweet Home

I stood straight, rubbing my back as I finished packing the last suitcase. "Your grace please, let me finish this for you." I smiled. "I'm pregnant, not feeble." Cerina laughed and took the bags. "Your mother and father will greet you when we arrive and they've set up a dinner party for your arrival and to celebrate the little prince." I sighed and placed my hand on her shoulder. "What would I do without you?" I turned to the door about to open it when Aries barged in. "There's my beautiful mate." He swooped up my legs, holding me to his chest. "Mmm. I assume you were looking for me. What ever for?" He grinned from ear to ear and placed a kiss to my temple. "Can't I just want to hold you?" He spun me around, nuzzling his cheek to mine. I giggled and laced my arms around his neck. This man was everything I could've hoped for in a mate. "So, mother is no longer in the castle. She has been sent to an institution." I rolled my eyes. "I knew she was insane." "Apparently she's been like this for a long time. They believe after my sister was born she went down hill." "What does Kia have to do with this?" He shrugged. "I have no idea. But all I know is she is completely insane. Father revoked all the castle rules so the females are safe and I was able to renounce my claim on all but one of the pups. The crazy female is fighting it." I raised an eye brow at him. He set me down while rolling his eyes. "She's claims the pup is yours? Does she have proof. Wait is it the same one who denied it being yours?" "No. It's not her it's another and she does not have proof." When he answered he looked away from me. I backed away slowly. "You lie." My breathe was cut short and I turned from him. "It's our wedding night all over again!" "My love please. She used the same method the other woman did. She actually boasted about tricking me. The doctor is running DNA right now." He reached for me with an apologetic look. I placed my hand on his chest to keep him away and refused to meet his gaze. "If that pup is yours it will mean war. Our child was supposed to heir of both kingdoms, uniting us." "She never claimed until now. Never." "Then why lie. Why not tell me this female might have sound proof of legitimacy? I do not lie to you." He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "Ava, I'm sorry ok? I know what our child means to our people and I promise not to lie about anything else no matter how small." "It makes it to where I can't trust you and that's not what I want. We're a team ok? You and I." I cupped his face in my palms while placing a kiss to his lips. "When did you last rut this female and why did you not where condoms?" I popped him in the back of his head. "Four years ago." "And the child is four?" "About to be. She's unmated and hasn't rutted anyone since." I pinched my chin in though as I paced. "I thought her heat had passed and thought it was safe." "Wait, her heat had pasted?" He nodded and sat on our bed facing me when he replied. "What?" When was the pup born?" "Uhh.....January twenty second" I started doing the math in my head when a sudden realization hit me. "She was already pregnant when you rutted her." "Explain." I grabbed a dry erase marker and went over to my bored I used for chores and to mark days without s*x when Aries made me mad. "Ok. Female anatomy one o one. Vampires are the same way." I turned to the bored and started drawing a diagram. "After conception, we give off a similar smell to that of a normal heat cycle. It's so similar in fact many mistake it as their heat. Much like spotting in human females. The only way to tell is to really focus. The conception smell is sour. While a heat is sweet." "Now that you mention. I almost didn't do it, she smelled weird." He visibly relaxed at the realization that the possibility is zero. When it was confirmed, we both sighed as we finished packing and finalizing moving plans. Todays the day we fly out. A few hours later we were on our flight to Russia. I napped while Aries snacked on cakes and chips. The flight was fine but I prefer to fly myself. To feel the wind beneath my wings, but transforming was strictly forbidden. When we landed we were greeted by my parents. Mother cried and father teared up. "We missed you my darling." "I missed you to mama." "And you'r bringing home a little grand baby." We hugged and headed for home. Ah home sweet home. The castle was only a thirty minute ride to the castle thank the gods. All this sitting was killing me. I just prayed that it would be more peaceful here even though HE was roaming around. I worried about how he would react to my pregnancy. The crazy fucker would try to make me lose the baby. I clutched Arie's arm nervously while biting my lip. Father noticed and patted my back. "He knows I'll end his pathetic little life if he tries anything." I nodded, not wanting to meet my mates gaze. But I could feel his worry for me. "I'll tell you later." I whispered to him.
