Interrogation
It wasn't a dream, it was real and Anna Diaz couldn't believe it. She had actually been arrested just like the characters in her favorite murder mystery novels.

Anna sat nervously at the table, her knees vigorously shaking, causing the floor beneath her to vibrate. Her heart racing a million miles a minute as she pondered on the unknown.
Anna's brown eyes grew large as she looked around the dark and dusty interrogation room, not knowing what to expect next.
Breathe in...
Breathe out..
One dusty, bright light bulb hung from the middle of the ceiling, shining directly onto the white, small round table that stood in the center of the room.
Anna looked up as she heard the sound of a creaky door opening, a ray of light peeked through the small slit as it opened.
A tall, slender woman in a dark blue pants suit walked through the door, holding a white mug in her right hand and an armful of files pressed up against her chest in her left arm. Her neatly red polished nails stood out against the white mug she carried like orange sparks flaming from a fire.
She had a headful of thick, curly red hair and almond shaped brown eyes. Her heels lightly tapped against the ceramic floor as she walked closer towards Anna. Gently pulling out the chair that was placed directly across from Anna, she sat down at the table.
She then took a gentle sip of her coffee.
"I'm Trish, an investigator with the Monterey Shore Police Department, and I've been assigned to your case," the woman said. Her eyes briefly gazed into Anna's then she lowered her head as she looked down at the manila folder in front of her. Her eyes quietly and quickly scanned the paperwork that was in it.
"So, Anna Diaz.... Tell me who is Anna Diaz?" She asked as she gently swept her thick red hair over her shoulder.
"I don't know. I don't know who I am," Anna bowed her head in embarrassment, she felt the warmth of her tears as they dripped down her face. The salty taste of her tears slipped into her mouth.
"Anna, why did you help Derrick dispose of Allen Rogers body?" Trish tried to get the truth out of Anna.
Anna brought her head back up. Her eyes were red and droopy, and a frown was affixed to her face. Her eyes twitching, as she rocked back and forth in the chair.
"Can I start from the beginning and tell you how I think it all began?" Anna asked as she sniffled. Trish got up from her chair and walked to the back of the interrogation room. She grabbed a box of Klennex and yanked one out of the box, she then placed it over Anna's nose.
"Blow," Trish said. Anna blew into the kleenex, feeling relieved from all of the congestion that was building up. She thanked Trish for her kind gesture.
"Can I start with my story now?" Anna asked.
"Go right ahead," Trish answered as she scooted back into her chair, prepping the pen she held in her hand, ready to take notes.
"Okay, well here goes,"
