Chapter Nineteen

Adele's Pov: It had been three days since we had carefully moved my sister down from the cave and into the medium sized hospital. Three days since I had decided that this would become our new home. I still needed to talk to Roman about it and speaking of Roman he hasn't left my sister's side that much. He only leaves to eat and shower, any other time he's with her. I'm glad, because today is the day I'll be talking to Akita about my proposition. Akita had been wanting to go into town for a handful of different things, and I agreed to go with her. It's more for her protection then it is mine, but it also gives me the opportunity to talk to Akita alone, without extra ears or eyes on us. Akita loaded her truck with a few weapons as a precaution and she got in and started it up. It was a comfortable silence as we drove from her home and through the community and then we stopped just meters before the invisible line. She turned to look at me and said "if we get followed or tracked, you use those weapons. I'll drive as fast as I can. We always have at least two people or a small group of us go into town." I nodded and felt the truck move once more. The drive into was nice, and it gave me time to word what I wanted to say. While Akita pulled into a parking lot of some hardware store, I spoke up after taking a drink from my water bottle "there's something I wanted to talk to you about. I think it's a good idea and it could benefit everyone." She parked her truck and turned it off before turning in her seat and looking at me, waiting for me. "What would think of my sister and I, along with Roman and his people if you allow it, to live among you and your tribe. Your home will protect us and in return we'll protect you and your people. It's very safe and peaceful. People can roam free without worry or looking over their backs. They can be themselves and live out their lives". She was silent for a long while, it wasn't until we went inside the building that she finally gave me some type of answer "it would be safer if the rest of the supernatural's lived on our reservation, but would they remain safe? What would happen if the HAA did somehow find a way into our home? No one would be safe. I'm not saying that you guys aren't allowed to stay, but I'm not going to risk my people. I know our home is strongly protected and I know you guys know that as well. I will host a meeting and put it to a vote, let the people decide. They already seem to love and adore you and your wolf. Right now let's get what we need and head back. I don't want to risk anyone seeing you and following us or worse." We got what we needed or well what Akita needed and paid for our things, before we headed to our next stop. Being in town away from my safe haven, always seemed to unnerving to me and it always left me on complete alert of all my surroundings. Akita did have a point though, what if somehow the Hunters did find a way into the reservation, would the reservations magic be strong and powerful enough to keep the hunters away and out of our home. Yes, I did consider Wind River Reservation my home, I always would consider it that. When we had completed our shopping trip, we stopped for lunch and headed back. On our way back, that's when we started to get followed. We were being followed by three large black SUV's. We remained calm and continued our way home, being sure to take different roads to lose them, but they kept up with us. We were definitely being tracked down. They were tracking me more then Akita, but nonetheless we didn't take kindly to this act. Akita only took a few minutes to take her eyes off the road and looked at me, it was time we ended this little following expedition. I reached behind the seat and took out one of the few weapons that we had and unbuckled my belt. I had managed to slide the window that lead to the bed of the truck and slide through it without much issue. I willed my wolf to the surface with ease and took a sniff at the air, I then counted roughly 18 different scents coming from the SUV's. We weren't leading them to the reservation, but to the mountains far from it. It would end there. I grinned and waved at the first vehicle before I started to open fire. Have you ever shot a gun while moving inside a vehicle? If you haven't, let me tell you it's not that hard, but then again you have to keep your weapon still and even when you point it at your target. I missed the first couple times, but the third and fourth time I hit my targets. The driver and passenger. I couldn't help myself when a large grin made its way to my across my lips. I continued to take out the other people inside the first vehicle, and nodded as it crashed momentarily after the driver had been shot. The second and third vehicles dove around the first and picked up their speed and we did the same. We were not the other ones who were shooting. I was being shot at as well. A snarl and growl ripped through me as a bullet glazed my right arm, but didn't penetrate the skin. I tossed my weapon into the front seat and jumped from the bed of the truck and onto the hood of the first vehicle. I tore easily through the glass and gripped the passenger with my left hand, my nails had shifted into claws as I tore through his neck and ripped out his windpipe. Blood had splattered all over the windshield, the side window, the passenger seat and the driver. The vehicle had slammed on its breaks and came to a complete stop. The hunters were out and surrounding me within seconds; their weapons drawn and pointed at me. Red lasers beamed from a handful of them. I felt a few bullets pierce my skin as they had been commanded and ordered to open fire upon me, which that had caused me to roar out in pain. I was livid now and they would pay. I was too fast for them to take notice that I was no longer standing in that place. I had clawed my way around the circle, tearing at their skin, and even pierced their chests with my hands, my claws closing around their hearts as I forcefully yank my hand out. Their still beating hearts rested in my palms. I was drenching with not only their blood, but mine as well. I made quick work with the bodies and piled them up close to the vehicles, I took one of their own weapons and opened fire in the SUVs and watched in victory when they exploded. The vehicles' along with the bodies were both up in roaring flames. I watched for a little while, before I made my way towards Akita, who was thankfully parked a few miles up the road. While walking towards her, I had managed to get the bullets out of my shoulder, my right arm, and both my thighs. Akita's eyes were blazing at my body and where my wounds were, her eyes narrowed and she opened her mouth, but closed it again when I held my hand up and stopped her "don't say anything, you're welcome for saving your life, though they were after me and not you. We need to get back home now. I'll keep watch in the bed to make sure no one else is following us. I need to talk to Z." Akita looked away, before she got back into the truck she spoke "I just got word that your sister is ready to be moved. Roman is making sure that everything is ready for your arrival back at his place. What you did back there was stupid and reckless, but I appreciate you protecting both of us. Seeing you like that, only made my mind up more. I'll allow you, Roman and his people and any other supernatural to stay on the reservation, but you can all come after these hunters are taken care of."
