Chapter Two

704 Words
Adele and I made our way to our Alpha's office to voice our concern for the well being of not only ourselves, but for our pack, our people. Adele squeezed my hand in comfort as the two of us entered his office, after he granted us entrance. His office was the size of a medium size bedroom, with a large window facing the front of the property. He had a large oak wood L shaped desk that sat in front of the window and an over sized chair behind it. The room was painted a light creme color with dark grey carpet covering the floor. A tall four drawer filing cabinet stood near his desk, which held files on pretty much everyone and anyone our Alpha knew. His office was a place that made you feel comfortable and not left feeling uptight. Adele let go of my hand and took a seat in one of the two love seats that were also placed in the room. "We came here, because we wished to discuss something very important with you. I only ask that you hear us out. It's about what you spoke of at the meeting this morning." Her words were soft. I closed the door and took a few steps closer towards Adele, but remained standing, as this was an important meeting. Alpha Rhydian Jinx was a man of multiple natures, he cared deeply for his people, but that didn't stop me from doubting him. Alpha Rhydian stood 6'4", tall and brood with short choppy sandy colored hair and brown eyes that held gold flecks within them. He nodded his head and crossed his arms across his wide chest and waited for one of us to talk. My eyes locked on his as I spoke up. "I am well aware that you are a man of honor, but we simply cannot take in anymore people. We are already one of the last largest packs left in the world and the more people we take in and shelter, we will be targeted and massacred. I'm not going to risk my family again nor my people. You better think long and hard about what you will be doing to these wonderful people and their families." While I continued to talk, I found myself moving across the room and standing in direct eye sight of Jinx. He hadn't said a word, only watching me as I moved towards him. I'm sure my words had been heard loud and clear by him, because his plump pink lips curled up and over his teeth as he sneered down at me. "You and your sister were adopted into this pack, taken in years ago, Miss Melbourne. You best remember your places within this pack, if you wish to stay apart of this safe-haven I have created for everyone. The numbers of this pack are none of your concern - it does not bother anyone else. I assure you that this is the safest place to be right now, but if you feel any different than you and your sister can leave. I can rearrange something for the two of you. Do not question my actions or my authority again, Miss Melbourne." A loud snarl bounced off the walls within the office and bright amber eyes clashed against golden ones. Adele had moved from her place on the love seat and was now standing near me, her eyes wide with worry. "The f**k it's not safe!" I spat. "You're seriously putting your people, your pack, their families, me and my sister, and yourself in danger! You're going to get everyone here slaughtered. I'm not surprised the Hunter Assassin Association hasn't found this place yet. I will NOT stand for what you are doing to these people. You call yourself an Alpha! You're nothing but a f*****g murderer. They will come and when they do, you'll be the one to blame. I won't let my people suffer and die by your actions. Mark my words, you will fall and burn, while my people survives." Adele grabbed my hand before anything else could be said and the two of us exited his office to join the other pack members downstairs and outside.
