Adele and I had settled into our new home easily and today we were getting a chance to explore around the property. We would hike there in human form and then take our time getting back in our wolf forms. Now,it's just the two of us. I had just finished packing our lunches and drinks, when Adele came skipping into the kitchen smiling. "Ready to go? We have a beautiful day ahead of us today." I smiled back and said "just finished our lunches. We can take our time and stay a bit late if you wish. What we don't explore today we can always explore tomorrow and the days after. I won't enroll you into school until next week. You'll be attending at Junior level. I'll be attending the nearby college as a Sophomore. If you have any trouble call me and I'll come get you." Adele gave a single nod and grabbed our lunches before she headed towards the back door and out she went. I made sure our windows and the front door was locked before I followed her and locked the back door behind me.
The hike started off on good terms, the weather was bright and warm, with a cool breeze. We were both enjoying the weather and the sights. I was doing some nature photography, while Adele was being her happy self. I snapped some photos of her dancing among the wild flowers, smiling and laughing. As we continued our hike, we both could hear the sounds of rushing water from a few miles away. We both smiled at that. We could definitely get use to living here. Once we reached the waterfall, I retrieved my camera once more and took a few photos. It was peaceful here. Adele had set our lunches down near the falls and slipped her shoes off. I snapped a photo of how peaceful my sister looked. I grabbed a blanket from my pack and placed it on the grass close to our lunch packs and set my bag down along with my camera. I allowed myself the chance to relax and allow myself to not depend on my heightened senses as much. If Rose says we are safe then I'll take her word, but doesn't mean I'll trust her. Once I later down on the blanket, I closed my eyes and soaked up some sun, while Adele was playing in the falls. I hadn't realized I had fallen asleep, until I felt cold water drip onto my face. My eyes slowly blinked open and my vision became perfectly clear once more. I looked up into the face of my smirking sister who said "come on you sleepy wolf, I want to explore the underwater cave I found a few moments ago. You'll love it."
After waking up from my power nap, I followed my sister back towards the falls and slipped out of my clothes and jumped into the water after her, following her under the water and under the falls. Sure enough there was a huge underwater cave just behind the falls. It was magical and beautiful to say at least, I wonder if anyone else had discovered this cave, if so; what did they uncover? I continued to follow my sister deeper into the cave, before we made our way to the surface for some fresh air. "I wonder if someone else had discovered this place, before we did, and if they did what had they seen here? We should definitely come back here and explore further, in order to do that we need scuba gear and some flashlights." I told my sister this and she happily agreed. We stayed inside the cave or a while, exploring as much as our bodies would allow us to, before we decided to head back and explore the forest we now inhabited. Once we arrived back to our blanket, we sat down and ate our lunch enjoying the weather and the company. Adele then asked me a very important question after she finished her small bowl of potato salad that I hand made, "will things every get better from here on out? I mean with the world sis. Will this war that seems to have gone on for years finally come to an end? Will the supernatural and mundane worlds be able to live in peace and co-exist? I'm tired of seeing and hearing about families getting torn apart." I sat my own bowl down, still half full of macaroni salad and closed my eyes "I would like to think and hope so. But it never seems to amaze me that these monsters continue to hunt us down all for what? To make them feel better? To make the humans feel more on top? Don't they realize that we are just like them, but slightly different? We all have families and friends. We all have to hunt in order to survive. I highly doubt that this war will ever end, and if it does- which will surprise me and you both, one race will come to an end; rather it's the supernatural or mundane. We are to never give up, never back down from anyone or anything. We must always fight for our rights and freedom. We must always look out for one another, no matter what. Never surrender yourself to those monsters. We lost everyone back home, we lost our second family, and I am not about to get separated from my only family. I will do absolutely everything in my entire being to make sure that you are safe and protected. If I have to give myself away to them, in order to protect you then I will. Let's hope it doesn't have to come to that alright. Just keep yourself on high alert when going to school and make the right choices." Adele tackled me into one of her tight hugs and nuzzled into me, in a comforting manor.
We later cleaned up our mess and packed up to head back to the house, only this time we would be taking our time in our wolf forms. Something I always loved when I was in wolf form, was the feeling of being completely free.
