Chapter Seven

I was awaken by my shoulder being shaken, causing me to let out a low but annoyed growl and I simply removed my ear phones from my ears. I turned my head from the window and looked over at my sister who wore a small smile and spoke "we're landing in a few moments, once we get through the airport, and reach the luggage claim, there will be someone waiting for us. They've agreed to let us live in one of their safe houses. These people aren't like us, Zarina, but they carry powerful magic within their blood. I met them years ago, when I had to travel with some of our people. You'll love them, once you get to know them. These witches have some very powerful magic, that can help us conceal ourselves from those...monsters." I simply nodded and and returned my seat to it's right position and put my things away. Moments later we landed and people started to get up and gather their belongings. Eventually Adele and I got our bags and left the plane and entered the very busy airport. Adele had wrapped her arm around my left arm and together we headed towards the baggage claim. While we walked, my body was aware of every single sound and scent. My eyes continued to roam around the airport, all I could pick out were humans, nothing I knew. If in fact that the members of the H.A.A were here, their scents could be very well masked by the witch, my sister called for all we know. I wouldn't trust anyone anymore. We finally reach the claim area and wait with the other humans who was waiting for the bags. It didn't take long for us to spot our luggage's, and once we did, we grabbed them, hauled them off the track and made our way towards Adele's witch. When we reached the witch, my eyes narrowed on on the middle age woman who had wavy caramel hair and light hazel eyes. Her skin tone was natural tanned and she carried a sign with our names on it. How cliche. I follow behind my sister and her friend through the airport and outside. It's mid day and the sun is high in the sky. We loaded our luggage's into the vehicle and I got into the backseat, while Adele got into the passenger side of the car. I didn't say a single word, as we drove away from the airport and turned onto the interstate, going who knows where. I allowed myself to relax slightly, and my mind went back to everything that had happened. I wasn't about to trust anyone anymore, after what we just witnessed and if I believe this witch to be a threat, I will pull my sister and myself away from the situation and we will leave. I could hear the murmuring voices of my sister and her friend, but paid no mind to what they were saying. My eyes close on their own record, and once more I am drifted off into the darkness of which I call sleep. I am awaken once more by my sister who's smiling softly at me. We've stopped moving, and I look at her slightly confused. She rolls her eyes playfully, before stating "we've stopped, because we are here. We'll be staying here at one of their many safe houses. Come take a look, we already unloaded our luggage's into the house. I wanted you to sleep more. I'll have Rose explain more to you." I got out of the car and closed the door behind me and took a look at the house for the first time. It wasn't nothing fancy or huge, just something simple yet beautiful. The one story stone cottage rested in the middle of a small clearing, surrounded my a vast amount of thick trees. A mountain range made it's home known to us in the background. Adele had lead the way towards the house and I simply adored the property. One we enter the home, I take in the views. The inside of the home is open and wide, giving off that feeling of having space, but still homey. The fireplace was already lite and I could sense that Adele's friend was somewhere in the home, probably the kitchen. I took a look around and decided that it wasn't bad and that it would work for us. I wondered where we were at, all I could tell was that we were no where near a city or town, being all the way out here. It was peaceful. Adele's little witch friend came bounding around the corner with a huge smile and said "what do you think? The property is 100% secure with powerful magic, so you don't have to hide who you are. The house is fully stocked with food, though if you happen to need anything, there is a few vehicles awaiting in the garage for you, keys are on the hooks, once you walk inside the garage. This is the safest home out of all the safe houses, we thought you'd like it more out here then in or near the city. No humans can enter the property without triggering it, which means my family would know first. I hope that you enjoy your stay and please do stay as long as needed. Any questions? Concerns?" I eyed the young witch and sighed softly before replying "thank you for taking us in and sheltering us. We needed a safe place to stay for a while. How far out of the city are we? This place will work for us. I really do appreciate it." Adele squealed and hugged me tightly before bounding over to Rose who smiled and replied "we're about 90 miles from the nearest city from this home. Feel free to call if you have any questions or want to talk or even hang out. I'm going to let you girls get settled in and I'll check up on you within the next few days or so. I hope you girls have a good evening and sleep well. I'm glad I get to see you again Adele, but I wish so dearly it was on better terms." I left my sister and Rose to talk, while I continued to explore our new home.
