Chapter Ten

Their cries, their pleas, their screams was music to my ears. Blood had been shed. Blood had covered the walls and carpet in the bedroom. Their heads had been decapitated from their bodies and was dangling in my blood coated hands by their hair. My dress was torn and drenched in their blood, my hair was also drenched in their blood. A sinister grin made it's way to my lips. I turned towards my sister who whimpered in pain. My eyes blazing once more with hatred for these bastards. My lips curled into a silent snarl and I called out towards my sister "stay put, don't move and please do not make much noise. I'll go get Rose and see if she can't heal you with some of her magic. While she's healing you I'm going to question everyone here and find out who sent these bastards and why." I turned away from my sister and the blood coated room and made my way back down the hall and staircase in search of Rose. It didn't take long for me to locate her, she was surrounded by a small group and laughing at some of the stories they were telling her. I narrowed my eyes and headed straight to her, I called out her name and she turned around and gasped in horror. I didn't care about how she reacted to how I looked right now, my sister needed me, I needed her. Her eyes widen as I stopped beside her and she said "Zarina, what happened? Why are you cov... I growled loudly, cutting her sentence off and replied "go upstairs and down the hall. Adele is hurt and she needs you. I need your help. You tend to her, I have something I need to do down here. Don't even question me, just go now." I didn't have the time of day to stand here and chit chat. We were being tracked and hunted down, that much I knew, but how and why? That is what I needed to find out. I called everyone to my attention and once I had their attention, I started talking " I do not know what kind of sick twisted game everyone here is playing, but it needs to come to a halt right now. I will NOT endanger my sister's life nor my own. I need to know right now who in the hell contacted the H.A.A. and gave them my sister's and I's location. I need to know why they were sent and I need to know now. We can either go the easy way or we can go through this the hard way, and trust me you do not want the hard way. So speak up now, or you will force me to get what I want." It was silent for many moments, no one had spoken a word, perhaps they were too shocked that I had mentioned the H.A.A. or maybe it's because it was for their own safety. To me it didn't matter, what mattered was the safety of my sister. My hands clenched into tight fists, as the silence continued, no one was going to talk. Fine. We'll do this my way. I willed my wolf to come to the surface, which caused my eyes to darken to their amber color and a wicked cruel grin, made it's way to my face. I carefully and ever so slowly, walked around the backyard, choosing and picking my first targets carefully. I didn't have to wait long, til I decided on the first person. My arms snaked around the males waist and my nose nuzzled into the crock of his neck, He smelled human enough, but I wasn't after his scent, no, I was after his memories. My lips parted and without any warning my sharp canines pierced his neck and I latched onto him, growling in the process. Once I swallowed a mouthful of his blood, I was flooded with his memories. When I didn't find what I needed, I moved onto the next person and then the next, until eventually I found what I was looking for in the mind of a young woman who looked terrified after I pulled away from her. A venomous snarl ripped from my lips as I tossed the woman to the ground and I glared down at her. Blood coated my canines, lips, chin and neck. I snatched her up by the collar of her top and dragged her across the yard and into the house. Once I made my way back to my sister and Rose, I tossed the woman on the ground and hissed out "I found something very useful, my dear sister. Rose what's the process on Adele's healing?" My sister's wolf stayed quiet except the few whines that escaped from her muzzle, and Rose answered my question, without turning away from Adele's wolf "She'll be alright. The poison from the knife was in her blood stream, but my magic was able to get a hold of that and eliminate it. My magic is working along side her wolf healing abilities, so she'll be making a full recovery withing few day, just keep an eye on her. She won't be able to return back to human form, until a week from today. Did you find out what you needed?" Once more the grin reappeared and I replied with "it took me a few moments, but eventually I did. Some of your witch friends are very helpful and the humans not so much. You need to re-evaluate your coven, and decide who you can and can not trust. I will state that there are a few members within your family/coven that have betrayed you. I will not be the one to sell them out, I already got what I needed. The rest is up to you. I do want to give my thanks for helping save my sister today." Rose had left the room after I had demanded the young woman to explain herself. Adele snarled and growled when she found out what happened, and after that I ended the woman's life. There wasn't any point in letting her live. Adele and I had moved into a new bedroom where I decided that we would stay to rest for a while, before returning to the cottage. I laid down on the bed and allowed my body to relax and my eyes closed on their own. Sleep invaded my body within moments of my eyes closing.
