Once Adele had fully healed and could shift back into her human form, we had left the cozy home of Rose's and returned back to our little cottage in the forest. Currently I was curled up in one of the chairs in the living room with a book and a hot cup of freshly made coco, Adele was making us lunch in the kitchen. The T.V. was turned on and playing a Lifetime movie, the volume was turned down as background noise. Since returning to the cottage, Adele and I were always getting into serious conversations about where to go next and what to do, now that we both know that the H.A.A. are in fact hunting us. Adele soon came walking out of the kitchen with our lunch and said "I really think we should travel to Colorado where our friends live. See if we could stay with them for a while and keep them updated on what's been going on. Do you think they know about our people? What's happened to them?" I bookmarked my page and set my book down on the side table, and took my plate of freshly made sandwiches from her and replied "I could give Roman a call and see if he would be okay with us visiting him. It's been a long while since we last seen one another. Colorado is very beautiful and it should be safe, though no place is safe now, until these hunters are taken care of. If we are to go to Colorado, we'll need a plan. A good plan. I am not risking your life anymore than I have to." Adele had taken to the couch near my chair and said "Roman would love to see us again. It's really been ages. I can't wait to meet up with Kaylee and Rayven again. The last time we visited, they were living deep within the mountains, do you think they'll still be there?" I was finishing up half of my sandwich and took a drink of my coco, before replying to her "I'm sure they're all safe. I mean they are dragons after all. As to your other questions, I'm not really sure, until we arrive there and find out for ourselves. I can tell you that you and I are the last two survivors of our own people. If there are other shifters out there we need to find them and band together. We need a very good plan and a plan that will work. We need back up plans in case our main plan doesn't work out. The war is coming and lives will be lost on both ends, but I don't plan on ever letting them get to you or myself or anyone else while I am still walking this earth. We will pack tomorrow, only what we need. Carry light." I ended our conversation and returned my used dishes to the kitchen and went into my bedroom to contact Roman.
It had taken a few moments to get through to him, but once I did Roman was very pleased to hear from me. I informed him of our situation and asked out of high respect if we could visit and he allowed us as he always had in the past. He then said in a softer tone "look Z, things aren't the same anymore. Not like it was before. We lost so many. I'll need your help and insight on these...people. could you do that?" I replied right away "Ro, you know I will help to my best abilities. I've already felt with five of them while we were at Rose's house for a cookout party. Adele was baldly injured, she wouldn't have made it, if Rose didn't help. She's all I have left, Ro. We'll be there as soon as we can, if nothing holds us back. Who will be picking us up?" An hour or so later we had ended our conversation due to Roman having some important things to finish up. I returned to the living room to see Adele reading in one of the reading nooks under the window. I spoke up "want to come for a long run, before we leave this place? I'm going to miss it. But it's always going to be here in the long run and perhaps when the H.A.A have been dealt with, we can come back?" It didn't take my sister long, she jumped at the chance to go run and was out the door before I blinked. I chuckled and followed suite, shifting once I had the back door closed and locked.
The two of us had let our wolves in full control as we played in the wild flowers within the forest. The waterfall remained as beautiful as always. I padded to the falls and bent down for a few drinks, and could hear my sister near by. She must be pouncing on a small animal and getting frustrated. I could hear her growls and whines. I shook my head and called to her through mind link "give up the pouncing party sister. Let's go for a hunt. I'm sure there's some deer or elk close by. That mouse or rabbit you're trying to catch isn't worth it. Come little wolf." Her head snapped up at the nickname and she snapped her large jaws in my direction and came chasing after me. My eyes danced with playfulness and I darted further into the safety of the trees, bounding over the fallen trees, my large paws beating against the damp leaves and dirt on the ground. Adele was hot on my trail so I leap onto a high bank near a stream and continued to follow the stream north. A bark below my running form came to my ears, but it only pushed my body faster, an idea came into my mind seconds later and out of no where I kept off the bank and tackled my sister's wolf into the stream.
