Sara tried to persuade herself that she was recovering, but recovering is not the same as forgetting. Living under the same roof felt weird, always felt like walking through a house filled with furnitures alone, Lily avoided her eyes, Daniel only spoke when he needed to. Sara told herself she chose to stay because she was strong enough to face the truth, but some nights felt like a burden to her. Daniel struggled the most. He loved Sara. Yet his feelings for Lilly refused to go away, no matter how hard he tried to bury them. The guilt kept on growing stronger in his chest, especially how Lily always flinches when Sara entered the room. Lily, drained from long shifts at the hospital. Loving Daniel and being drawn to him felt like a sin she was meant to carry alone. Yet there were sorrowful moments when Sara looked at her not with anger, but with sadness. And that deeply hurt Lily. The alpha ( Daniel ) finally broke the silence. He spoke about how he loves Sara deeply while acknowledging the bond he shared with Lily. The confession astonished them all. Sara did not react. She did not walk away. Instead, she proceeded to ask a question none of them expected, she said- what if love don’t have to be chosen, but shared? That night, nothing was decided. The idea of a different kind of family no longer felt impossible.
