A New Beginning

Stacy and I got dressed and followed Alice. We arrived at a lounge which turned out to be an indoor party. We met some of Alice's friends, mostly guys and a few girls, and they were all gorgeous. I felt like I was finally among the "big kids" and having fun. Stacy wasn't left out; she was having fun too. Then, one of Alice's male friends walked over and engaged me in conversation, asking how college life was treating me. All I could do was stare at his perfect features and well-built body, which reminded me of Max. However, I quickly brushed off the feeling. Mike asked if I was okay or needed some fresh air. I agreed, and we stepped outside he told me more about himself, and I discovered he was good in calculations which I found attractive . ...we talked and got to know each other and Mike asked for my mobile number, however our conversation was interrupted by Alice, who warned me that Mike was a playboy and I should be cautious around him, but I didn't take it to heart because Alice wasn't serious when she said it. It was late so we had to return to our dorm and all we could talk about was the fun we had and hoping we could get to experience more fun time to come. As I walked out of the lecture hall, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. Alice had been teasing me all day, saying I needed to stay away from Mike because am been a lover girl too soon but I knew she was just joking. She's always been overly protective of me, seeing me as her little sis. I appreciate her concern, but sometimes I wish she'd relax a bit. I pulled out my phone to call Stacy, noticing she seemed a bit off. Her responses were brief, and she didn't ask me about my day like she usually does. I brushed it off, thinking maybe she's just having a bad day. When I got home, Stacy was already there, sitting on her bed, staring at her phone. I asked her if everything was okay, but she just shrugged and said she was fine. I decided not to push the issue, thinking she'd open up when she's ready. The next few days passed quickly, with Mike and I growing closer. We'd meet up between classes, grab coffee, and talk about everything from our favorite books to our childhood memories. I felt a connection with him that I couldn't explain, and it seemed mutual. One day, as we were walking across campus, Mike turned to me and asked, "Hey, can I get your number? I feel like we're always running into each other, and I'd love to make plans outside of class." I smiled, feeling a flutter in my chest, and handed over my number. As the days turned into weeks, Mike and I's relationship blossomed. We'd go on long walks, have deep conversations, and laugh together until our sides hurt. I felt like I'd found a kindred spirit, someone who truly understood me. But as our relationship deepened, I started to notice changes in Stacy's behavior. She'd become more withdrawn, spending most of her time in her room, and our conversations became stilted. I tried to talk to her about it, but she just shrugged it off, saying she's stressed with school. I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was bothering her, but I didn't want to push her too hard. Maybe she just needs some space, I thought. Alice, on the other hand, was thrilled about my relationship with Mike. She'd always been a bit of a matchmaker, and she couldn't wait to see us together. She'd invite us over for dinner, and we'd spend hours talking and laughing together. As my 20th birthday approached, Alice and Mike started making plans for a surprise party. I had no idea what they were up to, but I couldn't wait to celebrate with my friends. The day of the party arrived, and I was blown away by the surprise. Alice and Mike had decorated the entire dorm common room with balloons and streamers, and all of our friends were there, smiling and cheering. I felt like the luckiest person alive. As we celebrated, I couldn't help but notice Stacy's absence. I asked Alice if she'd invited her, and Alice said she had, but Stacy had declined, saying she wasn't feeling well. I felt a pang of concern, but I didn't want to ruin the party by worrying about Stacy. As the night drew to a close, Mike pulled me aside and asked if I wanted to stay over at his place. I hesitated for a moment, feeling a flutter in my chest, but then I nodded. I knew I was ready to take our relationship to the next level. As we walked back to Mike's dorm, hand in hand, I felt a sense of excitement and nervousness. I knew that this was just the beginning of our journey together, and I couldn't wait to see what the future held.
