After the strenuous and exhausting promotional exams, I finally graduated from high school with good grades and was awaiting my admission letter from the school I had chosen. My dream profession was to be a lawyer, a passion I'd harbored since childhood. However, life seemed to have other plans. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, but there was no letter from the school. I was devastated and depressed, as this wasn't how I'd envisioned my life. Things weren't going as planned, and after several months of waiting without fruitful results, I decided to try again. This time, I chose a different school and profession – entrepreneurship, with the goal of owning my own business and establishments. I applied for the second time with lesser hopes, knowing I wasn't putting in much effort. Still, I held onto hope, as my friends from high school were all in college, and I felt left out. To prepare for the test, I attended pre-college lectures, where I met a girl named Rose. She joined weeks after I did, and I took an interest in getting to know her better because I admired her personality and carefree lifestyle. Rose and I became close friends, attending lectures and exploring the city together. We started skipping lectures, as we no longer saw the point in attending. Rose, who was older, never made me feel inferior, despite our age difference. We shared secrets about boys and other irrelevant but fun topics. I felt like I was finally living up to my expectations. Then, there was Max, a college student who lived nearby. I developed a crush on him and confided in Rose, who encouraged me to pursue him. I was hesitant, fearing rejection, but Rose's support gave me the courage to take a chance. One fateful day, Max approached me and asked if we could be friends. I was ecstatic but tried to play it cool. This marked the beginning of another chapter in my life – having a boyfriend. However, I knew my parents wouldn't approve, so I kept it a secret. Max and I shared our first kiss, but we agreed to wait until I was older before taking things further. Rose, who had become a confidante, reassured me that Max was a great guy. As the test approached, everyone had to get serious. Rose and I wrote the exams with confidence and a hint of fear. We patiently waited for our admission letters. Max and I continued our relationship, making plans for our future together. However, our fantasy was short-lived, as we broke up before I even received my admission letter. It turned out he had someone else, leaving me heartbroken. With Rose's help, I eventually got over Max and started making new plans. We vowed to stay together, attend college, and explore new experiences as best friends. The day our admission letters arrived, I was overjoyed to discover I had been accepted. However, my happiness was short-lived, as Rose didn't receive a letter. She was devastated, feeling like a failure as the only girl among her siblings. I put my happiness aside and comforted Rose, reassuring her that maybe it was a mistake from the school. Deep down, I wasn't sure, but I had to be there for my friend.
