Recovered

Pushing away her beloved comforter and dragging herself out of bed in reluctance, Lynn had to call a bitter end to her late morning sleep to answer the door with its bell ringing non-stop for the past minute. All groggy and putting on the most presentable knee-length coat over her colourful pyjamas, she has to keep squinting her weary eyes open to make her way clumsily to the front door of her apartment. When she finally found and open it, conscientious Lynn managed with all her might and will to flash the most welcoming smile at the innocent interruptor of her Saturdays' dreamland. "A very good morning, Miss Dawson! Here's your speedpost express package! Need your signature here..." The cheerful voice of an easygoing courier service worker did a marvelous job in lifting up Lynn's mood from the bottomless pit of slumber. Lynn has no reason to terminate her widest grin since the beginning of the week. She returned with bursting delight, "Why, thank you Mr Simons! I'm not expecting this in the least of my life..." He added pleasantly that he could finally bring some sunshine to her door after almost a half-year of nothing and she was looking much better than the last time she received an April Fool's parcel that really shocked her. After handing her the unexpected package, he wished her manifold blessings and left. Upon closing the door, Lynney squealed her loudest and leapt right unto the adjacent couch in her living room to behold the beautifully-wrapped surprise. Mouthing thanks and gratefulness to her heavenly Father, she was even more overjoyed to see that the sender was none other than her mom. She had told her parents that she needed no birthday gifts for this year, yet they broke her rule and still got her something again. She picked up a pair of scissors and cut the wrapper in the most careful and neat manner that she would still be able to reuse it later. Turned out, the precious gift was a long-lost but also her most treasured bunny rabbit stuffed toy which her once incredibly spoilt cousin had taken away against her wishes when she was a child. Her parents wrote on her birthday card that they managed to recover this toy after helping out with the spring cleaning of her cousin's home. Whether they had taken it back with her permission, Lynn's parents did not explicitly mention so. By now, tears streamed down uncontrollably as the nostalgic girl hugged her dearest childhood companion tight and passionately...She was most heartbroken when she lost her so many years ago and now she finally came back into her yearning arms once more...Tears wet both their faces as Lynn realised this was the most priceless birthday gift she had ever received... "Oh Rolleen...we can finally be together again..." She smiled endearingly and kissed her bunny friend which gazed back tenderly at her... ... The phone rang and surprised Lynn as she jerked back a little...She leaned over to answer the call while the clock on the wall has its hands turning anti-clockwise like a shot arrow until it stopped at 12 o'clock sharp. "Wh-at...? Are you serious? Today's weekend!" Lynn exclaimed and laughed it off as a joke when her colleague called in to demand her to work immediately. After a series of unbelief and protests on Lynn's part, her colleague has to threaten to cut her salary if she would not comply and show up at the office in half-an-hour's time. Lynn could not be more shocked after being told that it was still Friday, the day of her twenty-eighth birthday.
