Friday Again

"Is this day something special?"
A question that sounded to her both unexpected and pleasant, though Lynn was confused over the abrupt change of topic halfway through a stern conversation by her supervisor c*m section editor. She dressed her lousiest to show up at their publishing company office armed with reluctance and resentment, for she was not given any acceptable reason why for calling just a mere anonymous advice columnist like her to work on a weekend. She debated whether to offer a cold response.
That lady doubled her age simply smiled in a sarcastic way, "No wonder, it's Friday...TGIF!"
Lynn's pair of thin eyebrows creased into a deep frown so noticeably that her boss simply turned her attention away and picked up a 10-inches-high stack of neatly-typed papers and shoved them over to her end. "I need clean high-resolution-quality scans and five sets of photocopies of each piece of these no later than 2 o'clock today. Then, arrange for cafeteria takeouts for our teatime snacks and coffee...Afterwards, I need you to run me some errands to the printing office for the rest of the afternoon, which could be all be done presumably by six o'clock!"
Her orders got Lynn silenced for quite a moment...She stole a glance at her supervisor's desk calendar - no cross mark on this particular so-called 'Friday' and then the bottom edge of her computer monitor which displayed the time - absurd, weird and illogical! She even came to the point of imagining her boss and the office intentionally changed the day and date to give her an unexpected birthday surprise. A glance at the wall clock still showed a sensible clockwise direction the hands were moving...It was not April Fool but May Day instead...Questions circled and churned within her space-limited mind.
"Are you listening, Lynney Dawson?!" The outcry of indignation earned Lynn's unconditional respect and silent submission to her intimidating senior again.
She immediately gathered up all the papers and raced out of the room without a second thought.
