Chapter 34 As it was, the filming didn’t happen. My parents seemed to accept the idea of me spending Boxing Day with David’s family, as long as I was with them for Christmas. So it was arranged that he would pick me up. Which was a crazily long trip from Surrey to our home and back, but David insisted he was happy to do it. My parents welcomed him in for a drink and a mince pie when he arrived. It wasn’t a white Christmas, sadly, but it was very cold and we had a real fire burning.
