Chapter 5 Outside we had to wait a minute for a taxi, as there was a crowd of people also trying to hail one. He turned and looked down at me, as he was quite a lot taller. And all I could think about was two years ago on New Year’s Eve. He read my mind. "I can’t kiss you here, because there are always paparazzi lurking about the place. But I’d like to, very much." Would he kiss me back at his place? Would it go further? His place turned out to be a huge flat in Chelsea. I didn’t know if he owned it or rented, but it must have cost a fortune either way. It was spacious and elegant, with views of the Thames. A long, pale grey sofa and matching armchair, in a modern design, were positioned around a wooden coffee table. Several books were neatly stacked on it, not large coffee table books
