Chapter 6 I did my absolute best not to bore Milly senseless with my misery and yearnings. I had given her every last detail of the date, and we had analysed it all for hours, in our usual fashion. It was frustrating to both of us that we couldn’t tell anyone, because it would have been such a huge brag.
