Chapter Four
The day had finally arrived. It was Friday, March 2nd. Today, one of two things would happen. Either Sophie would go to work to find out it was Dr. Mitchells’s last day and leave feeling liberated, or she’d walk out of the dentist’s office that afternoon knowing she’d be stuck with the man for the rest of her life.
The past week had been worse than any Sophie could ever remember. It was as if he no longer cared a lick about anyone else’s feelings, including his patients’. He’d made one elderly lady cry when he told her that her breath smelled like feet.
