Denver's POV
The girl, fainted. She's not faking it, is she?
"There's no way the enemy would send a spy this weak," Ben chuckled at me.
"Why not? The enemy could have sent a spy who looks weak so as not to arouse suspicion. Don't you think?" I said as I crouched beside the girl's unconscious body.
"Are we going to leave her here?" Ben asked.
I was pensive. Not understanding what exactly was going on with my sense of smell.
God, there was no way this girl was my fate mate. I don't even know her. And she didn't look strong enough to be my Luna. No, she doesn't. The Moon Goddess must be wrong. I stared at her for a while until Ben tapped me on the shoulder.
"How long are you going to look at her like that?" He asked with a chuckle.
"Shut up!"
I said as I lifted her light body. Very light. Like she had never been fed. Is she a slave? A poor Omega? Where did she come from? I thought.
"We'll take her home!" I said to Ben.
I could see out of the corner of my eye that Ben dropped his jaw. Maybe he was surprised by my spontaneity.
"Are you serious?" Ben protested.
I turned to look at him sharply, "I'm very serious."
Ben was instantly silent.
I put the girl in the back seat. She was still unconscious. And looking weak.
"Don't let her die," Ben purred in annoyance as he slammed his ass into the driver's seat.
"Shut up!" I shouted. If only he wasn't my future Beta, and my best friend, I'd have slapped his mouth for daring to say that to my mate. The problem was that right now, I was too embarrassed to tell him that I found my mate. This girl. This weak girl.
"Did you bring anything that can be used to warm her up?" I asked Ben.
"My car is not a hotel, Alpha..." Ben replied irritably.
"Why don't you just hug her to keep her warm?" He joked, I glanced at him with an annoyed grin.
"Give me your jacket!" I ordered.
Ben pouted, but eventually took off his jacket and gave it to me. I then wrapped her in Ben's jacket. Then I walked forward and sat next to Ben before finally ordering him to take the girl straight to our pack clinic.

Throughout the trip I was mostly silent. My thoughts drifted in various directions. One was about whether I should tell my father about her? That I had found my mate?
But she seemed weak. And I wasn't sure about accepting her as my mate. I was the alpha candidate, soon to be crowned. And I must have a strong Luna candidate. Isn't that right?
Soon Ben parked the vehicle right in front of the clinic door. I quickly got out and took the girl inside. The few pack clinic staff on duty that night looked surprised to see me carrying an unknown girl.
"Alpha Denver, who is she?"
"I don't know, Ben and I found her passed out in the forest. Make sure she's okay." I ordered. And the nurses immediately transferred the girl to a push bed and took her to the emergency room.
"Alpha, are you going to stay here?" Asked Ben who came in with two cups of coffee and handed one of them to me.
"I think so."
"What if your dad is looking for you?"
"Hmmm..." I thought for a moment, Dad was never happy about me wandering around at night. Especially in the border area for training. Ever since he appointed his stepson to be the trainer at the main training camp, I had refused to train there. So, every night I always took Ben to train in secret. I never liked my stepbrother, because he was a loser hiding behind the mask of the perfect son. And it's sickening.
"Alpha Jacko is here!" A staff member panicked.
"Dad?" I frowned. And sure enough before long my father was standing in front of me, his arms crossed over his chest and his lips pursed. I knew he was mad.
"Who did you bring here?" He asked.
What? This soon he knew? Who was my father spying here?
"I..."
"I found her in the forest,"
"Forest?"
"Yes Alpha, the border forest," Ben said quickly. I hope he keeps his mouth shut. So as not to spill our secret.
"What are you doing in the forest at this time of night?"
"Uhm, just taking a walk alpha, to get some fresh air."
"You're not hiding from me to smoke weed, are you? " My father looked at me suspiciously.
"Jeez dad, I told you I never did!" I was getting annoyed at my father's accusations. An accusation about something I've said a thousand times, that I didn't do. It was Alan's, my stepbrother's. Not mine.
"Alpha Denver, the girl is awake." The nurse coming out of the emergency room chirped.
"Okay, I'll see her."
"I'm coming with you!* My father insisted as he tailed me.
Damn, I hope that girl forgets her memory and doesn't say anything about what she saw.
When I arrived the girl was already sitting on the bed. She was drinking the water the nurse gave her.
As soon as she saw me coming she put down her glass in a hurry.
"Sir, please...please...don't kill me..." She put her hands together.
I winced. Gosh dumb girl. She's going to make my father punish me. I glared trying to signal her to lock her mouth.
"Sir please....I'm not a spy, I just happened to be passing by, I promise I won't tell anyone else about what I saw..." the stupid girl was still pleading.
I let out a long sigh, "I know. You're not a spy."
"Denver, what did that girl talking about?" My dad glanced at me like he was asking me for a confession before she did.
"Dad..."
"Please don't kill me..." She repeated.
"Hey, what's your name, girl?" Asked my father as he approached her.
"And what did you see?"
"I am... ......."
"Dad..."
"She is my mate!" I interrupted and made the old man in front of me, widen his eyes wide.
"Yes, I saved this girl, because she is my mate..."
