Arielle's POV "Duvanour Hill, 1:00 am. I want to apologize for this afternoon's incident. Don't be late. Love you. L." When I returned home from the palace, I found a piece of paper tucked under the window of my cramped room. After reading the message, I crumpled it and immediately flushed it down the toilet, just like Liam always said. It was all I did to keep our relationship private. Honestly, the pain, anger, and disappointment still surround me because of what happened this afternoon and how he treated me in front of the girl he said was his future Luna. That's not what the lover does. I'm afraid he's just pretending to love me all this time. But for what? I'm not a girl who can be taken advantage of. I'm a poor, ugly, and weak young omega, even the lowest compared to other omegas. I couldn't even turn into a wolf on my 18th birthday. And that was very, very embarrassing. *** It was precisely 12 am. I hurriedly prepared to head toward Duvanour Hill after ensuring everyone in the pack house was asleep. We all worked hard during the day, so we were utterly exhausted at night. I grabbed the thick jacket on the back of my bedroom door. I then used my grandmother's old scarf to cover my head. And as usual, I chose to go barefoot so that my footsteps wouldn't make any noise. I snuck out in the most professional way possible because I had done it so many times. I knew which path was the safest to sneak out without getting caught. As soon as I reached the outskirts of the village, I ran and ran into the forest, where I knew no one would see me. The place I'm heading to is a little further away from the lake. I don't understand why Liam changed our meeting place. I'll ask him why later. *** I had reached the hill of Duvanour, and I saw him already standing there. In the darkness, he looked like a silhouette, with his arms crossed and head bowed. He wasn't looking at me, but I could hear him whispering to himself. "Liam," I called, and he turned his head and glanced at me. "Sorry to keep you waiting..." I let out of words. "I just got here too," he replied. He seemed calm, but I could tell he was tense because he wouldn’t let go of his hands, which were still folded in front of him. They were shaking slightly. "I am sorry, Arielle. I feel like I should apologize to you for what happened this afternoon." Liam grasped my fingers. His hand felt soft but cold and dry. My lips formed an awkward smile. But Liam didn't seem to notice and kept his eyes fixed on mine, looking into them intently. "You don't need to be sorry about it. It's my fault..." I replied calmly. Although before meeting him, I was still very angry with how he treated me, but I couldn't when he was in front of me. All that anger and disappointment melted away like ice under the hot sun. "It’s not your fault,” Liam insisted in his usual firm tone. "Is she your future Luna?" I asked with jealousy still roaring in my chest. Liam nodded. "Yeah, my dad had chosen her. She is Natalie the princes alpha from the Silver Fangs pack." "So, are you guys getting married soon?" "I don't know, my dad will arrange everything." "Are you going to keep your word, Liam? To tell your dad about us?" I was starting to sound impatient. Liam stroked my shoulder gently, "trust me. Have I ever lied to you?" His piercing eyes looked at me trying to reassure me. "I hope you didn't-" before I could continue, Liam swooped in and crushed my lips. And we did it again, for the umpteenth time. But this time I felt something else, somehow I felt my lower abdomen ache after having s*x with him. *** Liam and I went our separate ways. We went home by a different route. He asked me to take the route in the forest along the river not far from the palace. While he went through a fairly steep valley. I had only walked a few meters when I heard a wolf roar. Like two wolves chasing each other. As a weak omega and not having a wolf, of course this scared me to death. I had no choice but to hide behind the rocks. From behind the rock, I could see the two black-furred wolves with blue eyes and orange eyes attacking each other. Before long the orange-eyed wolf changed into his human form. "Enough!" "That's it! I give up, alpha!" she screeched. "Enough training!" Then the blue-eyed wolf also changed to its human form. He became a very handsome man. He had silver hair, brown skin and blue eyes. This is the first time I've seen a man with Liam's good looks. Gosh what was I thinking. "Ben, do you smell something?" The blue-eyed man asked his partner in front of him with his eyebrows drawn together. "No..." The other man replied. "But I smell another wolf here," the man's deep, husky voice made my hair stand up. "You've got to be kidding, I've been sweeping this area since earlier, and it's safe. There's no one here." "No, I'm not kidding. There must be other wolves here..." The blue-eyed man strolled towards me. No, there's no way he can smell my scent. Even Liam can't smell my scent since I'm just an omega wolfless. I took a few careful steps back before he reached the rock where I was hiding. But unfortunately, my foot stepped on a dry branch and made a sound loud enough to be heard. Especially to the ears of an alpha wolf. "Who's there?" The man shrieked with a growl of rage. I'm going to die! I thought. There's no way to save myself! I screeched inwardly. There's no point in running. In just a few seconds the blue-eyed, shirtless man was already in front of me. His silver hair shimmered in the moonlight and his eyes. His blue eyes were like the deep ocean I was drowning in. "Who are you?" he asked in a cold, gruff voice. "I am..." "You have entered our territory without permission, who are you? Are you a spy?!" He gripped my arm tightly. "I...I..." I couldn't say anything. My legs felt weak and my body cold, my head was dizzy and suddenly everything went dark.
