She ran.
Barefoot, in the middle of the night, unbeknownst to her mother and everyone living in the Pack house.
She was heading to the lake located on the edge of the Zemrith territory.
She kept running, and didn't care even though she was panting and her chest was heaving like she had just finished a 20-mile marathon.
If only she had a wolf, she wouldn't be this weak. Only if she grew up like the other wolves in this pack, maybe she could reach the lake in a fraction of a minute.
She paused to wipe the sweat beading on her forehead and she could feel herself dizzy from lack of oxygen, her stomach cramping, but she didn't care.
All she could think about was getting to the lake as quickly as possible. She didn't want to keep him waiting, and didn't want to make him angry at her again, for being late like last night.
Arriving at the lake, Raven Genevieve saw the shadow of a man, who was now standing with his back to her.
She saw his broad, bare shoulders, there was no mistaking it was him. Even if clouds covered the sky, even if the moon did not shine brightly that day, Raven still would not doubt that it was him. His golden brown hair shone even more dazzlingly amidst the darkness around him, a stark contrast to the darkness.
What she-wolf wouldn't be proud to be with him?
He was Nix Callahan, and he was perfection.
Raven was sure there were plenty of she-wolves who desperately craved her lover, Nix. Every time she saw him, her blood rushed to the top of her head and made her heart beat irregularly.
She unconsciously bit her lip. She couldn't believe that she and Nix, the future heir and leader of the pack, had been dating for a year.
Actually, she wanted to show their intimacy to others and flaunt it, but Nix forbade her and asked her to keep the relationship a secret until Nix turned 21. Even though Raven really wanted to show their relationship to the alpha and beta girls who always insulted and bullied her, because she was just a poor omega who was often called an illegitimate child because she did not recognize who her father was.
"Nix..." Raven called him softly while gazing at his muscular chest and dark green eyes.
Nix turned to face Raven and smiled as she approached him.
"You finally came, are you ready?" Nix asked as he played a smile on his lips.
She tried to stop herself from smiling too, but somehow Raven always failed. Nix was so mesmerizing, his scent drove her crazy in an instant.
"Raven..." He called out to her with a lustful sigh. His burly hands grabbed Raven's ass quickly and removed everything that was attached to her body.
"I missed you so much, baby..."
Without a fight, she lets Nix do it for the umpteenth time. She let him savor her.

After they finished, Nix laid her down on the grass and kissed Raven passionately. Nix wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled her close to let her feel his warmth, his scent, and his touch. His hands cupped her cheeks lovingly.
"You have the most beautiful eyes. They are so pure and innocent, yet they can be mischievous and exciting..." Her strong fingers traced Raven's jawline and landed a passionate kiss on her lips.
"Does this hurt?" Raven asked for the umpteenth time while fingering the birthmark engraved on Nix's neck in the shape of a crescent moon and a star.
"Not at all, dear..." He shook his head, and smiled faintly.
"My mother said you were an alpha prince who was born special, and that birthmark is the sign."
"Yes, everyone says that too."
"And I'm sure your future Luna is a special she-wolf as well."
"You are the one who will be my Luna," she looked at Raven softly.
"But I'm just the daughter of an omega servant, Nix."
"I don't care who you are, I want you, and I need you, Raven...." She pulled Raven closer into her arms.
"But..."
"Shh, you are everything to me..." Nix crushed Raven's lips again. After kissing, they parted ways and returned to their respective pack houses before dawn.
Raven went back to the shabby pack house for the omegas, and Nix went back to the pack palace exclusively for the alphas and betas.
