CHAPTER 1: THE $200,000 DEAL
Part 2 of 3 - MOVING INTO THE DEVIL'S HOUSE
Amina didn’t sleep that night.
The $50,000 check had cleared. Jayden’s surgery was scheduled for Friday 8AM. Dr. Benson called to confirm and cried on the phone.
But Amina’s hands still shook.
Saturday came too fast.
A black Rolls Royce pulled up to her Brooklyn apartment at 10AM. The driver didn’t speak. He just opened the door and handed her a garment bag.
“From Mr. Cole,” he said.
Inside was a white wedding dress. Simple. Elegant. $20,000 easily. And a note:
Wear this. 12PM. Don’t be late. - D
The ceremony was in Damien’s penthouse.
Only 10 people. Lawyers. A judge. Damien’s assistant. And one old woman in a wheelchair with oxygen tank. His grandmother.
Grandma Cole looked at Amina with sharp eyes. “You’re pretty,” she said in a raspy voice. “Thin. But pretty. You’ll do.”
Amina forced a smile.
Damien wore black. Of course. No smile. No emotion.
“Do you, Damien Cole, take this woman...”
“I do.”
“Do you, Amina Carter, take this man...”
Amina looked at Jayden’s picture in her phone. He was already in pre-op.
“I do.”
Just like that. 3 minutes. She was Mrs. Cole.
After, Damien poured champagne for everyone else. For her, he handed her an envelope and keys.
“Penthouse rules,” he said. “You have your own room. East wing. Don’t enter my office. Don’t touch my things. Be ready for 3 events per month. Assistant will text you.”
He walked away. To his grandmother.
Amina stood there in a $20k dress, married to a stranger.

Part 3 of 3 - FIRST NIGHT AS MRS. COLE
The penthouse was 8,000 sq ft. Floor-to-ceiling windows. All of Manhattan.
Her “room” was bigger than her old apartment. King bed. Walk-in closet already filled with designer clothes with tags. Chanel. Dior. Valentino.
Her phone buzzed.
Damien Cole: Dinner. 8PM. Dining room. Don’t wear pajamas.
8PM. She wore a simple green dress from the closet.
Damien was already there. Eating steak. Reading documents. He didn’t look up.
“Sit.”
They ate in silence for 10 minutes. Only the sound of forks.
“Your brother’s surgery went well,” Damien said suddenly, not looking up. “He’s in recovery.”
Amina’s breath caught. “How do you—”
“I told you. I solve problems.” He finally looked at her. “Including you.”
Amina pushed her food. “Why are you doing this? Really?”
Damien put his fork down. “My grandmother has 3 months to live. She wants to see me married before she dies. The board wants a stable CEO. You need money. It’s math, Ms. Carter.”
“Call me Amina.”
“No.” His gray eyes were cold again. “In public, it’s Amina. In private, it’s Ms. Carter. Boundaries. Remember the contract?”
He stood. “Rule 4. No romantic relationship. No kissing. No intimacy. This is strictly business.”
He walked away.
Amina sat alone in the biggest dining room she’d ever seen, with the most expensive food, and felt lonelier than when she was broke.
Later that night, she couldn’t sleep. She walked to the window. New York lights below.
Her phone buzzed. Unknown number.
Jayden: Sissy? The doctors say I’m gonna be okay. They say someone paid. Was it you?
Amina cried. Silent tears on the glass.
She texted back: Yes baby. Rest. Sissy got you.
Then another text came. From Damien.
Damien Cole: I can hear you crying from my office. Stop. It’s annoying.
Amina laughed through her tears. Cold. Annoying. Billionaire devil.
She whispered to the empty room: “12 months.”
She thought she was selling her name.
She didn’t know she was selling her heart
