The Big Announcement/Attacked/Out Of A Coma/To The Meadow

Madelyn's POV

We arrived at the center of the island as soon as we could and a bunch of wolves and people were already there.We only had a day to get there and then they would announce without everyone there.We set up our camp and wandered around the center talking to wolves and people.We even found Dakota he had completed the bond ritual with Jinx.I loved talking to Dakota.He stayed with Kelpie and I for the night.

Kelpie's POV

After spending the night at the center with Dakota and Madelyn and seeing how they looked and talked to each other I thought they liked each other.But Madelyn denied it and so did Dakota but I knew they liked each other.But I dropped it and all of us went to listen to what the big announcement was.My father a high wolf gave the announcement."All wolves listen here.The reason the high wolves called you here is because the cougars have declared war after blaming us for the death of high cougar Ryland.We know we did not do this so we will fight to the end.And because of this war all festivals,Bond rituals, and trials will be cancelled until the war has ended.Be alert cougars will be trying to attack packs and everything's else.No one will go without a pack right now.Even rouges need to be in a pack.Stick together and protect yourself.Dismissed." Of course it was a war the worst thing that could happen.Madelyn and I decided to go with Dakota's pack.We would start back with his packs tomorrow.

Attacked

Madelyn's POV

I was kind of scared to be honest.This would be the first war if ever experience.But I knew I was safe with Kelpie she was an amazing hunter,fighter, and runner.We started back with Dakota's pack and just about all of his pack had already completed their bond rituals so there weren't a lot of trials.We made it back to their territory at night.We had to do patrol shifts because no one wanted a surprise attack.Kelpie and I went to bed for a while.Dakota and some others started on patrol.We slept for a couple hours when Dakota came back and told us it was time for our shift and to be careful.But me being me thought I could handle my job of patrol and when I heard a noise instead of alerting I went to investigate.I found a dead bunny and thought it was weird but it was a distraction.Two cougars pounced on me as soon as I looked down and I screamed out in pain and sudden shock.

Kelpie's POV

I heard Madelyn scream and immediately ran towards the sound.Most of the pack followed but some stayed behind in case of an ambush.

I was first to reach Madelyn and I just let my instincts take over and immediately smashed into the cougar causing it to stumble then turn and put its focus on me.There were more cougars because they knew this would happen so about 5 more cougars hopped out of nowhere.We eventually got the cougars to back off but not without paying a price.A bunch of wolves and people were injured and Madelyn was on the brink of death.It was all up to the medic whether he gave her a fighting chance or not.Sitting at that bed with Dakota was so sad I didn't know how much I truly cared for that girl until I saw how bad of a condition she was in.Dakota seems depressed and he refused to eat.But I went on with my days because I knew deep down she was a fighter and would come back.Everyone else just had to believe it to. But the doctor said it was a coma and she would most likely be out of it soon. Dakota shook his head he thought it was all over for her.

Out Of A Coma

Kelpie's POV

It had been two weeks now and nothing from Madelyn she still lay limp on the hospital bed and Dakota still refuses to eat or leave her side.Most of the wolves have already given up on her but I couldn't give up her.I went into the medical room and sat by her and Dakota.I tried talking to him "Dakota why don't you go eat I can watch Madelyn she won't be alone and she wouldn't want you to starve yourself." He looked at me with a blank expression.But after a few minutes he got and told me to not take my eyes off her.I didn't,I couldn't she was my partner now I couldn't back out on her.I looked at the window for a while when I heard a groan.

Madelyn's POV

I groaned not being to make out any words.I heard Kelpie howling before I knew it I saw Dakota and a doctor enter.Dakota just hugged me and cried while Kelpie sat wagging her tail.She looked at me with her gorgeous eyes that seemed to have captured the stars while I was out cold.After a few days I could speak again and somewhat walk.After a whole week in the hospital I could leave and so I did.But in the time I was knocked out cold 2 weeks went by and the war had come to an end and we all went back to peace.Kelpie and I decided now that I had my strength back we would head back to the meadow cave.When we went to start off a hand took mine.It was Dakota "Madelyn,Kelpie I hope you don't mind but I'm tagging along with you until you complete your trials." I laughed and we both said we didn't mind.

To The Meadow

Kelpie's POV

While heading back Madelyn was definitely slower and it was harder for her to move so it took a lot longer getting back to the meadow cave.Once we got back to the meadow we decided it was better to not go into the cave so we set up camp near a pond in the meadow full of fish.Once we set up camp Dakota and I went fishing but we had different versions of fishing.He used a rod I used my mouth.Once we both got at least two fish we started to cook them and in the middle of the process Madelyn got up and decided to go for a walk.She said she wanted to be alone and have time to think a bunch of things over so we agreed to give her some space.

Madelyn's POV

I just kept watching until my legs gave out. I couldn't think straight only because of my anxiety.But a familiar face came up to me and helped me up.It was Alpha Gacey's son Marek he picked me up and asked what I was doing on the ground I just told him I fell.We kept walking and catching up on what we had missed in each others lives.He said his sister,Arden moved away from the pack and moved in with her mates pack.He walked me back to my camp and gave me a big embrace and told me goodbye.
