Jealous Dakota/The Past Still Haunts Kelpie/Mind Reading Dog

Kelpie's POV

When that dude embraced Madelyn I saw Dakota get really mad he looked like he wanted to stab the dude.Madelyn and Dakota both said they didn't like each other but this is proof Dakota lied about not liking her.It was written on his face.But Madelyn didn't see the anger on his face so she never questioned him.But Dakota did question her "So....Madelyn who was that?" "Oh Marek?He's my best friend from my original pack." "Um ok how long have you known him?" "10 years.Why?" " No reason, just curious." Jealous much?I was supposed to say this in my head but some things just come out.

Madelyn's POV

When Kelpie asked if he was jealous it kind of raised a question in my head.Why was he jealous?I didn't know the answer nor did I ever ask so I guess i'll never know.But that night we all just kept talking and chatting and Dakota even brought out Jinx so we could talk to him and Jinx asked questioned and talked for Dakota that night.I think Kelpie has a wee bit of a crush on Jinx.But that's just my suspicion I can't really tell because Kelpie always has the same expression on her face.That night I fell asleep on Jinx that night but he didn't mind and he said Dakota didn't mind either.I big spooned Kelpie that night as well she was so cuddly and sleeping between two wolves is super warm.

The Past Still Haunts Kelpie

Kelpie's POV

When I woke up Jinx was still in control and Madelyn was peacefully sleeping in between us.Last night got really cold so hopefully she wasn't freezing.Since I was first to get up I thought since we were in the meadow by the pond that I would bathe myself and get all this stupid dirt off my beautiful coat.After bathing no one was up yet and I was bored so I decided to go to the neighboring pack.The Bloom Pack,they were very nice and they all cherished the meadow.Once I reached their territory I was greeted by the Alpha himself.Now the Bloom pack doesn't have any humans in it.Not even humans who have bonded with wolves.So I figured I might as well visit them before I can't.While there I met so many new wolves and I got to see one of my sisters,Delphine."Delphine!" "Kelpie!" "Where are the pups?" "The pups are with their father." "Even Della?" "Yes she wanted to go with all the boys.I feel as if she's going to be the strongest one out of them though." "She definitely has the fighting spirit." "Enough about my life!Have you seen Scorpion or Daya lately?" "Delphine,you don't know?" "Know what?" "Scorpion died in the trials sister." "What!Does Kali know?" "No I haven't seen her." Well she's here and she deserves to know her mate died." Delphine started walking towards the tree circle.That was the place most wolves without their mate would go to pray to the moon goddess for their safe return.That just made it all the harder to walk there knowing Kali was praying to the moon goddess for his safe return.We walked up to her and her first words were "Kelpie!Has Scorpion come with you?" I paused not sure of how to tell her.But finally spoke "Kali I hate to say this but,Well Scorpion died in the trials." Kali stood there shocked and in disbelief."He can't be! Is this a sick joke?Delphine,Kelpie tell me he's not dead!" My sister spoke up "I'm sorry but this isn't a joke Kali." She howled with pain and sorrow everyone in the circle understood and howled with her.We howled along and soon the rest of the pack was howling with us.

Madelyn's POV

Jinx and I woke up to howling.It was from the Bloom pack.I looked at him and asked if he could tell me what they were howling about.He looked down at the ground and said "Someone's mate has passed and they just found out." I put my head down in respect.Once the howling stopped I lifted my head and Jinx gave Dakota control back.I wondered where Kelpie was but I figured she wouldn't be gone long.After an hour Kelpie came trotting back to our camp."Kelpie where did you go?" "Oh I went to go see the Bloom pack and talk to my sister since you and Jinx were sleeping." I nodded "Well what exactly happens with the howling?" "My sister didn't know Scorpion died and neither did his mate so I told her and I went to go tell Kali." "Oh I'm sorry that must have been a hard thing to tell someone." She nodded but asked what are plans were and I said "Well with the whole still not fully healed thing I don't really have a plan." She looked at me confused and asked "Well where did you want to go?" "Oh I wanted to go back to the mountains to go see Everest." "Well we can still do it it'll just take longer." "I say we just wait til I fully heal and then we start out journey." Dakota and Kelpie both nodded and for the rest of the day we fished,swam and explored the Meadow.

Mind Reading Dog

Kelpie's POV

We waited a week before starting to go to the mountains. In the mountains there where a few packs like the Snowflake pack, The Dancing Snow Pack, Etc. For the week it took we moved camp twice to a cliffside and to a rouge hangout area. Why we chose the rouge hangout area? I have no clue but most wolves just stayed away from us and the others were just friendly rouges. But all through the week Madelyn and Dakota would go for walks to help Madelyn gain her strength back. When it was finally the day to set off Madelyn was super exited to Everest again she was also exited to feel the cold again. Madelyn loved the cold so when she had to back from the mountains she was disappointed about the change of the weather. We packed up our camp around 5 in the morning and headed off at 6. Depending on how fast we walked it would take about 2-4 days. Dakota had also just like become our buddy because he wouldn't leave our side even though multiple other people he knew asked him to join them for stuff he still just stuck with us so I knew he loved Madelyn. But the only way humans could be together was through their wolves. By that I mean if wolves were mates humans would have to like each other because they would have pups together. So unless I liked Jinx they couldn't be together which was a sad reality but a reality nonetheless.

Madelyn's POV

I was surprised Dakota still wanted to go to the mountains with us. I mean he has been with us for I don't know how long anymore. I thought by now he surely would have been fed up with us. But we all walked and talked for a long while until my legs needed a break in which we just decided to set our camp up there. I could see the mountains far ahead. It looked a million miles away from me. I don't know how Everest and I got down here so fast when we had to come meet Allusion but I guessed it was because Everest knew his way around the mountains. I was saddened by the fact that the mountains looked so far away but Kelpie and Dakota made me forget some of that sadness by joking with me and talking about what we wanted to do when we got there. Dakota wanted to see if Vain was still there because he had generally liked Vain and the way he talked about Vain made it seem like they had known each other for years.

Dakota's POV

When Madelyn looked towards the mountains she grew sadder but I couldn't understand why because she talked about how much she loved them. "Dakota you i***t she obviously wants to get there faster." "How do you know are you some mind reading dog?" I wasn't used to this Jinx being able to communicate through my head thing. "I'm not a dog you you freak. And its an educated guess. But if you really want to know ask her." So I listened to the dog and asked her why she looked sad. She said it was because the mountains looked so far away and she wished she was closer to being there. But who would have guessed it the mind reading dog was right. That night I let Jinx take control and he cuddled up to Kelpie when she fell asleep.
