CHAPTER 1 : Hmmm… What a Delicious Lip
Madeline Sullivan woke up with a dull ache between her thighs. The discomfort made her wince as she shifted on the unfamiliar bed. Confusion clouded her mind as she tried to piece together the events of last night. She remembered going to a party with her sister, Sharon Sullivan. She remembered Sharon handing her a drink—one drink, that was all. But after that? Everything went blank. “f**k, I’m so foolish to think Sharon would ever be good to me,” Madeline muttered under her breath. She rubbed her temples and turned her head slightly—only to feel a strong arm draped over her waist. Panic shot through her veins. She quickly removed the man’s hand, slipped out of bed, and stood up, barely breathing as she took in her surroundings. The expensive hotel room, the luxurious sheets… and the undeniable evidence of what had happened between them. Her heart pounded as she grabbed her clothes, hurriedly putting them on. She reached for her purse, took out some cash, and placed $300 on the bedside table. Then, with shaky hands, she pulled out a small notepad and scribbled a short note. “Sorry for last night. And thank you for being ruthless yesterday. I left $300 for you. May we never see each other again.” She didn’t sign her name. Without another glance at the sleeping man, she turned on her heels and rushed out of the room. The Interview That Never Happened Madeline hurried back to her tiny one-room apartment. She barely had time to process what had happened last night—there was no time. She had a job interview to attend, and she refused to let anything ruin her chance at securing a future. Jumping into the shower, she scrubbed herself clean, as if washing away the memories of last night. When she stepped out, she dried off quickly and dressed in a crisp white shirt tucked into a fitted black pencil skirt. She applied light makeup, just enough to appear presentable, and finished with a touch of red lip gloss. With one final look in the mirror, she grabbed her purse and left. The company she was applying to was the biggest and most powerful in the entire country. It was a golden opportunity, and she couldn’t afford to lose it. But when she arrived, she was greeted with unexpected news. “I’m sorry, Miss, but today’s interview has been canceled. You’re advised to return in two days.” Madeline’s fingers clenched into fists. “Who the hell cancels an interview on the same day?” she muttered before turning on her heels and leaving. Defeated, she returned home and collapsed on her bed. She needed sleep—maybe when she woke up, everything would make sense again. The Most Dangerous Man Awakens Back at the luxurious hotel, Williams Carter stirred from his deep sleep. A pounding headache greeted him the moment he opened his eyes. His body felt strange, different. Something was off. As he sat up, his gaze traveled across the room, and his blood ran cold. His clothes were scattered on the floor. The sheets were a mess. But worst of all—his eyes landed on the small red stain on the white bedsheet. A sharp, cold wave of realization crashed over him. “Who the hell took my virginity last night?” His jaw clenched, his fists tightening as fury coursed through his veins. This wasn’t how it was supposed to happen. He had vowed to wait—to keep himself for the woman he truly loved. Yet, here he was, waking up in an unfamiliar bed, stripped of something he had treasured for years. He inhaled sharply, trying to calm his raging thoughts. That was when he noticed the note on the table. His eyes skimmed over the hastily written words: “Sorry for last night. And thank you for being ruthless yesterday. I left $300 for you. May we never see each other again.” His fingers crushed the piece of paper as a dark, ominous chuckle escaped his lips. She had paid him. Paid him. Like he was some cheap one-night stand. Rage burned in his chest. He grabbed his phone and called his most trusted assistant. “Find out who was in this room with me last night. I want every single detail about her. Now!” Whoever she was, she had made the biggest mistake of her life. Williams Carter was not a man to be used and discarded. And he would make sure she regretted it. Williams Carter paced the length of his suite, his mind in chaos. He had always been in control—of his life, his choices, his future. Yet, one night had taken everything from him. The thought of an unknown woman robbing him of his virginity, then paying him as if he were some common escort, made his blood boil. His phone buzzed. “Sir, we’ve identified her,” his assistant, Logan, informed him. “Her name is Madeline Sullivan. Twenty-four years old. Lives in a small one-room apartment on the east side of the city. No criminal record. Applied for a job at Carter Enterprises today, but the interview was rescheduled.” Williams’ jaw tightened. “So, she was here for a quick f**k before a job interview?” he said darkly. “There’s more,” Logan continued hesitantly. “She is the adopted daughter of the Sullivan family.” Williams narrowed his eyes. “Adopted?” “Yes. She was taken in as a child but was never fully accepted by the Sullivans. From what I gathered, her older sister, Sharon, treats her more like an outsider than family.” Williams chuckled bitterly. “Interesting. A woman who doesn’t belong. A woman who dares to take from me and walk away like I’m nothing.” His fingers clenched the crumpled note she had left behind. “I will torment her until she regrets ever crossing my path.” Madeline woke up hours later, stretching lazily in bed. Her body still felt sore, and flashes of last night haunted her mind. She had no intention of sleeping with a stranger. She barely even remembered how it happened. But the truth was undeniable—she had lost her virginity to an unknown man. And instead of facing him, she had left him money as if he were some random gigolo. “God, what have I done?” she groaned, burying her face in her hands.
