The highways became redundant to Damian and Ridge, always.
Driving and daydreaming with Ridge at his side felt as if it were half of Damian’s job. The agency demanded unlimited traveling. Chasing bad boys and girls around the nation. Puzzling together pieces of crimes, working those crimes on a day-in-day-out basis, and learning of inconceivable activities among the most heinous on the planet.
Often, Damian wondered what it would be like to a have a nine-to-five job at a downtown firm, sitting behind a desk all day and having coworkers to talk to about their personal lives and concerns of the world.
