Love surely is a great thing- but dangerous. This story revolves around a person who have been shaped and molded by love in both good and bad ways. Zaeari is a girl surrounded by people who love her dearly. For her, love for her by people and her love for them is a precious gem in her life. And the thing she afraid the most happened to her. Is her perception of love will stay the same? Or it will be completely different?

CHAPTER 1
Zaeari's POV "Hey, sleepyhead! Wake up! It's almost 1 pm." says Rhyna, my best friend. "What time is it?" "It's 12:30." Argh. This girl is frustrating. "If only you were not just Rhyna Carlsen, I would have gripped your neck." "Thankfully, I am." Then she winked at me. Iw. Disgusting. "Come on, Zhaea. Let's get some fresh air." "What's with you? Have you been unhealthy enough to do that?" "I think so. Because I smell negative energies coming from you every day. Can you imagine how my internal organs began to have complications?" Yeah, sounds like her. She talks too much - as in too much. That I, too, find her voice an irritating tone. We walked from the library to our next class - World History, my very favorite subject. The scene from here is a great place to walk - acacia trees along the path that serve as shade from the sun, the fresh air you breathe, and the dandelions that are as beautiful as...me. Kidding. But I am not joking about the scene here. It is where my boyfriend and I, Jace, go to spend our time. "How're you and Jace? "I did not seem to see you dating these past few weeks," asked Rhyna, breaking the peaceful silence. "Why do you suddenly ask? Anyway, we are fine and getting stronger, I think. He is just busy with his field studies and, you know, his organization in the school." Jace is a man who's born of wit and talents. He is a consistent academic achiever, national sports qualifier, an artist,Editor-in-chief of the school publication, a core officer of the supreme student council, governor, and a great boyfriend of mine. I couldn't ask for more. He is my ideal man. "Great, then. " Rhyna just smiled at me. Luckily, we just arrived on time for our first afternoon class. "Good afternoon, my dears." Greeted my favorite teacher, Mrs. Zane Reyes. "Good afternoon, ma'am." "What do you think is the reason why they invented cotton during the Industrial Revolution?" "Because of the rising demands of people for clothes, ma'am." "Yeah, that's a close one. Why do their demands rise? "Because of the growing population, ma'am." "Good." And why do these growing numbers of people demand clothes?" "It is because they need something to cover themselves due to their tedious work on their farms." "That's one. Thank you." "Any other idea?" says her while roaming her eyes around the four corners of our room to look for a lucky student to stand and be stir-fried by her series of questions. "Please stand, Ms. Carlsen." And by saying lucky, I mean my best friend. She seems to be my teacher's apple of the eye. "Oh. I like your outfit today, Rhyna. It suits your poise while you stand for a few minutes. I think you are prepared." I giggled - on my mind, of course. Because I'd be standing too if my teacher saw that. "What do you think is the reason why the increasing population of the people during the Industrial Revolution demanded highly for clothes?" "Aside from them needing it for their farming activities, could it be in connection to their weather, ma'am?", Ms. Reyes' brows raised. "And what do you think of their weather at that time?" "During that time, I think people experience cold weather because, considering the geographical location of Great Britain, they often experience cold weather. " "Are you sure that's the answer?" "It is just my notion, ma'am. I'm not so sure about it." "So you're still not reading any World History books from the library, huh?" She lied. That witch. She read Marvin Perry's, a credible source of World History. "Come on, Social Studies Majors. You're in your third year, yet, few of you are reading books. I can only count those who are prepared for every discussion. And now, I might consider Rhyna as one of them. She seemed to read before entering into my class. I said that because she's right. " She flipped her hair at me- bragging about it. "The reason why they invented cotton is to meet the growing demands of the increasing population for clothes, because it is cold in their country, and they need something to protect them from it." Our discussion lasted for about an hour and a half. Here we go again to the subject that I'd be willing to attend-Math. Aside fro. I'm not fond of this subject, I am also unlikely to listen to my teacher. He teaches this boring- as I perceive it- subject. His voice is also not entertaining. It is not loud enough for everyone to hear it. And that makes it more boring. I didn't listen well, which I hid, of course, because I didn't want to be caught being uninterested. Finally, our class ended. This is our last subject. Aside from it is my last subject to be interested in. "Will you be waiting for Jace? " asked Rhy. "Yeah. I'll be going to their office to help him. "We're working out plans for the upcoming campus intramurals and sociocultural fest." "Okay, then. Take care. Don't be out late. I'll cook dinner later. And you can invite Jace if you want." Ryna and I are renting an apartment. So does Jace, but it's approximately 1 kilometer from ours. "That's great. I will invite him later. Thank you, Rhy. The best." "Hays. Stop being so cringy. I don't like your sound if you're like that." "Hmp. Okay. Bye. Take care." "Okay. Bye too. Don't stress yourself out. You'll have crinkles if you stress yourself so much." "Whatever, Rhyna. Bye." Sometimes, Rhyna cooks dinner during my busy days. The reason why she doesn't want to be involved in any organizations in our school is because she doesn't want to make herself occupied by things and be chained to the responsibilities. When I arrived at the Student Council office, I saw my boyfriend keeping himself busy with his laptop. Eyes gazed at me when I entered the office. "Oh. Maybe now, you are energized to process our papers, Jace," jokingly said Alice Monteclaro, student council President, Jace's classmate, academic rival, and probably the type of girl I'll be jealous of. But I know they have no feelings towards each other. I can strongly sense that. Jace smiled at me. He is really handsome. I helped the others with working on the stage design before I went to Jace. "You look tired. You should rest for a while." "I'm almost done here. I just made some changes to our plans." Ah, I forgot to mention. Jace recruited me to become Committee Head of the student council. That's why I'm very willing to help. "Anyway, Rhyna is cooking dinner. She wants to invite you to eat there." "Yeah, sure." He replied shortly. Hours passed, and we went home to eat because it was already past 8 and my stomach is beginning to growl. Upon entering the door of our apartment, I smelled my favorite dish- caldereta. By the way, this is also Jace's favorite. But not Rhyna's. She hate caldereta. But she cooked caldereta for us. I saw Adobo, which is definitely her favorite. "Talking about timing. Let's eat." "Gosh, Rhyna. I love you so much." I was about to hug her, but she stopped me like she always does. She doesn't want to be hugged unless so necessary. "Grab your plates, you two. So that we can start eating and then you'll wash the dishes." She also hates washing dishes. We ate happily. Jace smacked me a kiss before leaving our apartment, which made me blush- as always. "You're too obvious, huh? You're even blushing." She smirked. "Shut up." She just giggled at me. That girl. _________________________________________ I was forcefully woken up when my ears were deafened by Rhyna's alarm, which was obviously my alarm because she wasn't even awakened by the loudness of her alarm. I did my morning routine, of course. I even prepared breakfast. I was brewing my coffee when Rhy came out of the door. We ate together - talked mostly. And we went to school. Our classes went as usual, and I went to the student council office to finalize plans for the upcoming sports and sociocultural fest. Alice presided over the meeting, of course. Our theme is Harry Potter. I want to suggest Game of Thrones, but it seems like only a few in this room know that. We'll be busy preparing for the event since it will happen next week. I'm excited about it because this is the second big event in our school - next to Foundation Day. "Reminding tour tasks, especially Jace and Zhae, who will be up in the paperwork. Clyde and Brent will be for stage design. The rest, you should be aware of the things you need to do. If that's all, the meeting is adjourned. " "I'll just call Rhy to let her know I'll not be home tonight." "Sure." I called my best friend to tell her I'd be sleeping in Jace's condo unit to get our task done. "Hmm. Okay, then. Take care." This was not my first time in his apartment. Of course, we've been in a relationship for 5 years now. I said 'yes' to him when we were in 11th grade. "Make yourself comfortable, love. I have to busy something to eat. I'll be quick." "Yeah. Take care." I entered my room. Yes. I have my own room in his condo. And this is also the reason that Rhy entrusted me with my boyfriend. I placed my things and I went to Jace's room to look for his new book. I always do this. It's because he has a good taste on books. It still looks like before except for the photo on his table. A girl's baby picture. It must be his only sibling - ate Clarice. We have been quite close. We have the same vibes and interests - playing chess, watching movies, reading books, writing, and, of course, history. She is now a lawyer at Hankuk Law Firm in Korea. I also dreamt of being a lawyer. I hope I can pursue it soon. I looked on his bookshelf. I got 5 books to read. I went back to my room and I took a nap. I woke up and the numbers 8:45 appeared on my phone's screen. Shookt. I slept that long? I went into the kitchen to help Jace prepare our dinner, but he was done. "Hey, sleepyhead." Yeah, he sounds like my best friend. I seemed to have a new nickname, huh? I slept for more than 3 hours. "I'm sorry, I couldn't help you cook." "Silly. It's alright. As long as you sleep enough." Hays, my natural blush. Kidding. "Let's eat so that we can finish those things early." Yeah. Paperwork. I am the student council secretary, so it's my job - supposedly. But Jace offered me help and, of course, Alice granted it. We ate and we washed dishes. Yeah, 'we'. He helped me again. We took a shower - separately, of course - and we finished what needed to be done. We watched the movie How to Make Billions before Grandma Dies. A must-watch movie. That's why my boyfriend is hushing me now. I am crying a lot. He wiped my tears like I was his child. What should I do? I can't help crying. When my eyes got tired, he walked me to my room. "Sleep now, cry baby." He giggled. "I hate you." "Oh you can hate me?" he asked, smiling. Hays. Nevermind. He hugged me so tightly that I felt like my bones were crushing. Kidding. He also kissed me goodnight. "Goodnight," I greeted. "Sleep well, my cry baby," he said, laughing while rushing to the door. I smiled so sweetly until I slept.
