Bonding

As I sat in front of my computer, the glow of the screen illuminating my face, I felt a sense of excitement and nervousness. I had been talking to Glenda for a while now, and our conversations had become a highlight of my day. We would talk for hours, sharing our thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I typed out a greeting, my fingers flying across the keyboard. "Hey, how's it going?" I asked, eager to hear back from Glenda. Glenda responded almost immediately. "Hey, I'm good," she said. "Just got out of a long conversation with my mum. She's been stressing me out lately. I laughed, feeling a sense of solidarity with Glenda. "I feel you," I typed back. "My parents are always on my case about something. It's like they think I'm not trying or something. As we talked, our conversation flowed easily, like a gentle stream meandering through the countryside. We discussed everything from our parents to our siblings, from school to our hopes and dreams. I shared stories about my sisters, Emma and Ava, and how they looked up to me. Glenda talked about her own siblings, and the challenges of being a big sister. Our conversations were like a dance, each step flowing smoothly into the next. As the days turned into weeks, I found myself looking forward to my conversations with Glenda more and more. I felt like I had found a kindred spirit, someone who understood me in a way that few others did. We talked about our struggles with mental health, about the good days and the bad. We shared our fears and our hopes, our dreams and our doubts. And through it all, we found comfort in each other's words, in the knowledge that we were not alone. “I'm so glad I found you," I typed, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Glenda. “Me too," Glenda responded. "You're one of the few people who gets me." I smiled, feeling a sense of connection with Glenda that I couldn't quite explain. It was like we were two souls, connected by an invisible thread, understanding each other in a way that few others could.
