Zane decided to choose the seat beside mine, I sat about halfway down the isle along the windows. Normally he sat at the back with the rest of the 'jocks'.
I looked down and opened my binder and text book not wanting to give Zane any more of my attention.
"Psst..." says Zane, trying to get my attention.
I ignore him.
Thankfully, Mr. Helm walked into class, "Afternoon class, today we are going to be learning about the American Civil War, please turn to Chapter 18, page 289, in your text book."
I dive into my class work, knowing that I need to resist the urge to glance at the beautiful boy sitting beside me, 'why is this so hard?' I ask myself.
When the bell rings I grab my stuff and sail out of class, one more period and I'm home free for the weekend to be able to avoid this school and these people, especially Jess. I have a feeling she still isn't too happy about me showing up at her place for lunch today.
I'm walking down the hallway lost in thought, when I feel it.
A gravitational pull, followed by a tingly sensation shooting through my entire arm and body when someone gently places their hand on my arm.
I don't even have to look up to know who it is, this is the exact same feeling I had when our hands bumped in Josh's rear seat of his car, Zane had caught up to me.
"Slow down!", says Zane.
"No, I'm going to be late for Chemistry." I mutter.
I start walking at almost a jogging pace and get to class. It's almost five minutes later before the bell rings for class to begin.

ZANE'S POV
I try to race after Liese, but she darts into a classroom, as I stroll by I see her glancing at the door way, her eyes quickly looking away as soon as I pass by.
I need to know more about this girl, about my mate.
Suddenly a thought pops into my head, I turn around and head to the office to speak to one of the student councilors.
"What can I do for you Mr. Ashton?" Ms. Paisley asks as soon as I step through the door.
"I need to switch some of my classes around, please."
Ms. Paisley looks up at me over the top of her black framed glasses sitting half way down her nose and raises her brow inquisitively.
"May I ask why?" She asks, sitting back in her seat and crossing her arms.
Ms. Paisley went to school with my mom. She was extremely petite, but extremely stern. According to the town gossip, any boyfriend she had ever had in her life had only lasted a couple weeks because she was like a drill Sargent and didn't put up with any 'rubish'.
It was quite admirable but she was also quite intimidating.
"I..uh..yes, Ma'am..uh..it, it's interfering with, uh...ah..football" I manage to stutter.
Ms. Paisley raises a brow, and I know she isn't believing my lie.
'Hold your ground, keep the eye contact. Your body language has to show confidence cause your words were sure useless' says the voice in my head.
After an entire minute Ms. Paisley grabs a pen and sticky notes and turns towards her computer monitor.
"Okay, Mr. Ashton, what seems to be the issues?"
"Well uh, practices are many times at lunch ma'am. Chemistry just takes too long to clean up and get outta there!" I knew I had this in the bag, the only other time Chemistry was offered was at the end of the day.
"I see" she says, glancing at me over her specicles again.
"I was uh, thinking that if I could switch it to another time it might be uh, helpful, I uh, think it would make my days easier." I stutter.
"Let me take a look" she says turning to the computer screen and bringing up my file. "Hmm, well if we were to switch your Chemistry into last period with Mrs. Rogers... then you will lose your Calculus period, so.. hmm.. we are going to need to move almost your entire schedule around."
After about five minutes Ms. Paisley hits the print button and turns to be with a piece of paper.
"Check this over" She says handing me the paper. "Look to see that this arrangement will work with your extra-curricular schedule."
I take the paper and give it a look over. She was right almost my entire schedule has been moved and changed. I now have a spare in first period, which could be good as it would give me lots of time to shower and do a bit of homework before class and after our early morning practices. Second period is Calculus, third is English - so that will be easy to get out of at lunch time. Fourth is still my History with Mr. Helm and Liese - I get butterflies just thinking about her. Fifth... I stare at the sheet of paper in my hands. I did it, I actually did it! I get to have two periods in a row with my precious mate. Now only to convince her to give me the time of day.
I look at Ms. Paisley, a huge toothy smile on my face. "This is perfect!" I exclaim, jumping up from my seat. "Thank you Ms. Paisley! I better get to class!"
Ms. Paisley hands me a pink piece of paper so that Mrs. Rogers is aware that I am supposed to be in her class and it takes every ounce of willpower for me to not start running down the hallway towards my mate.
