Darcie waved the last of kids away with a smile on her face. Her cheeks hurt from the forced smile all day. Who was she kidding, it had been going on for the past week. Ever since Drew came home. She still had trouble some days wrapping her mind around it. She had to check his room sometimes to prove that it was all real and she was hallucinating. A small part of her almost wished it was a hallucination.
Since Drew came home, he hardly spoke to her. He was a shell of the man he once was. If she thought he was bad in the hospital, he was worse now. Shadows still loomed in his eyes.
