Chapter 20
Days crept by at a snail’s pace after her confrontation with Daniel. Darcie just went through the motions every day in a blind fog. Work and home. She was back to her bleak self, and she knew there was no cure for it. She stopped seeing Katherine and Alexia, making excuses why she couldn’t go out. As usual, she would try and talk to Drew, but he mostly ignored her.
Yesterday she tried touching him for the first time, and he exploded in fury. Darcie feared for her life and fled the room hiding in the bathroom. He never came after her, but she could hear him tearing the bedroom apart. She’d had enough. Over the past few weeks, since he was released from the hospital, he’d retreated into himself except around Tony and Savannah. Or the few lashing outs. No more. Drew needed help.
