Chapter 23 “Beth,” Darcie said awestruck that Beth was there. Since Don died, she’d never left the farm. “Hi, what are you doing here?” Realizing that was rude she tried again. “What I mean is, it’s great to see you. Won’t you please come in.” Darcie stepped to the side to allow Beth to walk in. Beth smiled warmly at her as she always did. Darcie had always seen Beth poised and dignified. Darcie didn’t know what her secret was, and Beth wasn’t going to share.
