Our last summer

Chapter 1: The Beginning of the End Emily walked down the deserted beach, feeling the cool sand beneath her toes. She took a deep breath of salty air and looked out at the endless ocean before her. It was her last summer before college, and she wanted to make it count. She had decided to spend it at her family's beach house, where she had spent every summer since she was a little girl. As she walked back to the house, she saw someone sitting on the porch swing. It was Jake, her high school sweetheart. He looked up and smiled when he saw her. "Hey," he said, standing up to greet her. "Hey," she replied, hugging him tightly. "It's good to see you." Jake and Emily had been together since freshman year of high school, but they knew that their relationship would be put to the test when they went to different colleges in the fall. As the summer progressed, Jake and Emily spent their days exploring the beach, trying new restaurants, and enjoying each other's company.
