BROKE, JOBLESS, AND DESPERATE
She has just been evicted from her apartment, which she has been managing for years, and has not been consistent with the house rent payment. “I have tried for you over the years,” shouted Mr. Thomas, the agent in charge of the building Aria was staying in. Aria Mason is a young woman who is struggling to make ends meet for herself and her daughter. “ I know you have called for me, and I appreciate that. Can you please spare some months more to look for a job and pay all the debt I owe you?” said Aria with tears in her eyes. “ I can’t take any more pleas from you,” said Mr. Tom Her loads were removed from the apartment, and the house was locked by Mr. Tom, even after Aria had wept and begged for a chance to stay until she found a job. “ What am I going to do with my life now?” Aria was seen asking herself questions and crying profusely while sitting at the front of her house. “Aria, please stop crying,” said one of the neighbors who lives close to her. She moved close to where she sat and patted her on the back passionately, like a sister, and murmured, “All will be well, Aria.” She also carried her daughter and asked Aria to follow her to her apartment, at least to pass the night. Mrs. Craig is a woman who is in her early forties, and she lost her husband before she moved to that community to start afresh because she doesn’t have a child for her late husband. She is also a registered nurse who has been of great help to her neighbors, especially Aria, whom she has known for six years. “ You need to rest, Aria; you have cried a lot, and it is bad for your health,” Mrs. Craig said. She was still carrying Lila in her hands, and she was already sleeping, so she had to lay her down so that she could rest. She came back to the living room after putting the girl down in the room to meet her mother, who was still sobbing. “ Aria, please don’t wound yourself with tears. God will do the best for you; just trust in him. Mrs. Craig has learned to trust in God, even when all hope seems lost, and God has been faithful to her. She patted Aria on her back and prayed for her. It was already late in the evening, so Aria wanted to excuse herself and asked, “Can I get a place to sleep?” She whispered, “Of course, there is a room for you to sleep in, my darling,” said Mrs. Craig as she took her to the room where Lina was lying. “Thank you, ma,” she whispered Mrs. Craig nodded and patted her on her back before leaving the room. She heaved a heavy sigh and was tired of crying. She lay quietly on the bed, unsure when she would fall asleep. She woke up with a terrible headache due to the cries of the previous night; she managed to stand up from the bed. She checked on her daughter, and she was still asleep. She went to the living room, and she saw Mrs. Craig. "Good morning, ma; thank you for taking us in, ma," she expressed her gratitude to her soberly. “Good morning, darling, I hope you are better now," replied Mrs. Craig, with an arm to embrace her. "I have a terrible headache, and my head is pounding," Aria replied. Oh my God, you are so hot; I need to administer some painkillers to you, and you also need to rest," shouted the nurse. She rushed inside to bring the drugs. She instructed Aria to brush her teeth and eat any of the foods in the refrigerator. Aria managed to take her bath, grabbed some food from the refrigerator, and microwaved it. She sat down to eat. She went to meet Mrs. Craig for the drugs, and she was given them. "Sorry, dear," said Mrs Craig "Thank you, ma," replied Aria By this time, Lila was already awake and hungry because she hadn't eaten well the previous day. "Hi, baby," muttered Aria to her daughter, and she ran towards her, but Aria was too tired to carry her. "Don't worry, go and rest. I will take care of her," said Mrs. Craig. Aria gave an appreciative look Aria went inside. She thought she would go job hunting, but unfortunately, she couldn't go anymore because of the headache she had. Before anyone could speak, she was already sleeping. She woke up late in the evening and was very tired, but Mr. Canaig took care of her daughter throughout the day. The next day, Aria woke up early, feeling better, and decided to go job hunting. She took her baths and dressed up. Her daughter didn't sleep beside her the previous night but slept in Mrs. Craig's room. "Good morning, ma," greeted Aria "Good morning, my love," greeted Mrs. Craig "I'm heading out to look for jobs. At least now that I'm better, I need to find a means to survive," said Aria "Oh! That is great. I wish you a happy search, dear, and I pray you meet a favor out there," prayed Mrs. Craig. She waved goodbye and headed out of the house. The last time Aria was on a job hunt, she was rejected by employers after going through a lot of stress to submit her resumes. She was devastated, and here she is today. She is just desperate for a job. On her way, she saw an old woman in a wheelchair who was struggling to cross to the other side of the road, and people were not offering to help her. As the woman was about to fall, she struggled, and she quickly rushed toward her to help. "Sorry, ma," said Aria "Thank you so much for helping me; I appreciate you," said Mrs. Estelle Carrington. Mrs. Carrington is an elderly woman in her late seventies; she is wealthy and only wants to enjoy life to its fullest before she passes away. She helped the woman to cross to the other side of the road. "Where are you going all by yourself? Don't you have people who help you around?" asked Aria "I do have one, but I decided to do everything by myself today," said Mrs Estelle Carrington "Be careful while walking on the road next time, Ma," advised Aria. "Thank you, dear," said Mrs. Estelle Carrington. As Aria was turning to leave "One more thing," shouted Mrs. Estelle. Please see me off to my house, and then you can visit me tomorrow as a way for me to properly thank you. Aria nodded in affirmation and began pushing the wheelchair silently. Upon reaching the gate of the house, the woman asked Aria to stop, as they were already in her home. The gatekeeper opened the gate for the woman and greeted her respectfully. She waved at Aria before entering and said she would be expecting her the next day. "I will come, Ma,” said Aria.
