JUSTIN CANNON AND LYDIA Michaels were in the Zippee Messengers office when Rex arrived in the morning. Their boss, Gerry, was on the phone with an unhappy client. Rex grabbed a cup of coffee, and then sat on the edge of Gerry's desk listening to one end of the conversation.
Sullen, Gerry said, “Okay, I will talk to him, and get back to you. I’m very sorry for the inconvenience. Okay, goodbye.” Gerry hung up the phone and looked at Rex. “You remember taking a job from the Benson Law Firm to Judge Valentine last Thursday?”
“Off the top of my head? No. But that doesn't mean I didn't do it, why?”
