Chapter 49
DONNY MANCINI WAS IN hiding. He made a major mistake by hitting Victor Ragu. Mobsters have a code about being touched by other mobsters, let alone the son of one. By hitting Ragu, Donny immediately put a target on his back.
He had several other problems, though. First, he hadn’t told his father yet. It would be bad if he found out from an outsider or from Ragu himself. The other problem was Rex.
Since he went into hiding, he had been staying at a motel in Tonawanda. He needed a new location and called an old friend he grew up with on the West Side. They had moved to suburban Amherst years ago.
His friend was in college and hadn’t heard from Donny in a long time. Donny found the phone number in the phone book and called.
