Captured Healer

Louises POV  The next morning, after I have dressed and put on my makeup, I walk to Liam's locked door. Now I'll really find out how he feels about me. Because peoples actions speak much louder than people's words. Words only express who someone wants to be, actions on the other hand show who someone is. And I'm just about to find out. I put on my grimmest face and open his door.  "Wake up," I command loudly and see that he is already awake. However, he´s still startled by my sudden entrance. As he recognizes me his facial expression changes. As always, his disparaging and hateful looks bounce off me, I know that he can be very different. He can be loving, tender, concerned and compassionate. Something I've never seen in Darion. He's always so controlled and arrogant. Liam, on the other hand, shows vulnerability without hurting his pride. I think that shows real strength.  "I'm awake," Liam says curtly and pulls me out of my thoughts. I go over to him and loosen the iron clamp on his wrist.  "Get up and follow me," I ask him and he follows my command without contradiction.  “What are you going to do today?” He asks quietly. However, I don't answer him and just get a few ropes out of the closet. He stands a little lost in the room and waits for what I plan to do next.  "Turn around and put your hands on your back," I order him. He hesitates for a moment, but then seems to see that he has no choice.  I put his arms on top of each other so that the forearms are parallel to each other. Then I take my time to tie him up properly. Several times I run the ropes over his shoulders and around his torso to create a harness. Cuffed like this, he cannot free his arms or move them. His wrists are relieved to some extent and the blood flow is nowhere blocked.  When I'm done, I step in front of him again. He keeps his head down and avoids my gaze.  “Why so reluctant today?” I ask.  "I can sense that you are upset for some reason, and I want to avoid directing your anger at me."  “Oh my anger is not directed at you, but at the young healer who apparently snuck up to you every night. I caught her in the act last night. "  He takes a sharp breath and looks up in surprise, but immediately lowers his gaze again.  “Do you have something to say about that?” I ask, glaring at him, although I'm just pretending to be mad at him.  A fiery look hits me and there are so many emotions in it that they almost roll over me. I can clearly see so much fear, worry and grief but also affection, protective instinct and even love. However, all of this quickly turns into anger and hatred.  "What did you do to her?" He asks in a firm, deep voice, looking hateful into my eyes.  "Nothing at all so far, that depends entirely on you," I say sweetly as I watch his wild expressions again. His apparent anger at me turns into thoughtfulness, hope, and determination.  "I made her do it," he replies, whereupon I just raise an eyebrow skeptically.  “Tell me more,” I say. He sighs deeply, turns his gaze back to the ground and begins to talk. It's a little weird watching someone lie blatantly when you know what really happened. Let's see where that leads.  “After I was tortured so badly, two healers took care of me. One of them was Lou. She took care of me and I blackmailed her. I told her to come to me every night or I would kill her and her family too. She was afraid of me so she came to me every night. I ordered her to bring me food and continue to treat my wounds. She did it all for me without saying a word."  "Why did you blackmail her?" I ask eagerly for the answer. So far he has kept close to the truth.  "Because I had the hope that she would help me to escape." Now, however, I am no longer so sure. Is that the truth or just another lie? I would trust him to do that, that he wanted to win my trust, to soften my heart so far that I would help him with a possible escape. Still, it could just as easily be another lie to protect Lou.  "Well, I think it was a little different. I think Lou's heart is too big. She has fallen for your charm and has arbitrarily decided to help you and incidentally disregarded my orders."  Liam doesn't answer that, he just presses his lips tightly together.  "Well, I think you can imagine the punishment she will receive for treason," I continue. He continues to look stoically at the ground.  "Either she will end up in prison for life, or the king will take her life and she will be executed in the same way as you."  He looks at me frightened. Maybe I've just gone a step too far, but how am I supposed to get a reaction from him if I don't scare him a little?  "You can't do that," he bursts out and I notice how upset he is. He sinks to his knees and looks up at me from below.  “Please, I beg you, let me take her place. I'll do anything just let Lou go. I am sure that I can convince her not to come to me anymore."  Liam would really go this far and take someone else's place. He really seems to have feelings for me. I feel a little shabby for putting him in this situation and taking advantage of him in this way, but on the other hand I can't get rid of the thought that he was just using me to find a way to escape.  “Well, you will take over her sentence, but if you should not carry it out to my satisfaction, the healer will end up in the dungeon. Is that understood?"  "Yes mistress. Thank you, ”he replies, bowing his head. He's still kneeling on the floor and looking so terrified, worried and relieved.  Whatever agony he now expects to endure, I am sure it will be less bad for him than expected.
