I was ripped from my sleep as I clutched my chest in immense pain. It had been going on for days, and I didn’t know what could be causing it. The first time I felt it was when I left a voicemail for Laila, offering her the position. Since then, I had been feeling this overwhelming pain in my chest at night and early in the morning. My eyes were beginning to water as I rolled to the side of my bed to turn on the lamp on the nightstand. I struggled to get out of bed and onto my feet. Tears started forming in my eyes as my body felt powerless to the misery. When I finally got out of bed, I stumbled to the bathroom.
