Chapter 1: He Was Just a Teacher
I had always been one of the top students…
A university student who knew exactly what she wanted and walked toward it with confidence.
With my wheat-toned skin, my long black hair, and my wide eyes…
I never saw myself as anything special—except that I worked harder than everyone else.
I believed success never comes by chance, but as the result of long effort and sleepless nights no one sees.
So, I never waited for anyone to notice me… I was enough for myself.
Until the day he entered my life…
He was just a teacher.
Tall, elegant, with a presence that couldn’t be ignored.
His aura imposed silence, and his charisma made everyone listen.
He was different from the rest…
Not only in the way he explained things, but in his gaze, his confidence, and his calm way of teaching that made you understand without even realizing it.
But for me?
He was just a good teacher… nothing more.
I liked his way of explaining, his calmness, and his respect for students.
I listened carefully, took notes, and left the classroom without thinking about him.
I wasn’t looking for anything else…
And I never expected to feel anything.
Until that day…
After the exams ended, I was waiting for the results with a bit of anxiety, despite my confidence.
I looked calm on the outside… but inside, I was full of questions.
And when the results came out…
I ranked first.
It wasn’t surprising—I had worked hard.
I smiled to myself, as if reminding myself once again that I was capable.
But what I didn’t expect… was what happened next.
At the end of the lecture, as I was leaving the classroom, I heard his voice:
“Your results are excellent.”
I stopped… and turned toward him.
It was an ordinary moment… or so I thought.
He looked at me directly, his gaze calm… yet different.
As if it lingered longer than it should… deeper than a passing remark.
“Great job.”
I smiled shyly. “Thank you.”
And that was it…
I took a few steps and left the room.
But the moment didn’t leave me.
From that day on, I found myself thinking about his words more than I should…
Repeating them in my mind, over and over again…
I remembered his voice, his way of speaking, even his gaze.
I tried to convince myself it was just an ordinary moment…
But something inside me refused to believe that.
I felt something strange—something I had never felt before…
Something light… yet growing every time I thought about it.
I didn’t understand it back then…
And I didn’t even try to name it.
But I felt it… clearly.
As if something had begun…
Without me even noticing.
