The wind tore against my face and it was euphoria running through the night on the back of a wolf, the trees dipping and disappearing past us in a blur. His deep thick fur kept me warm. He took me out to a cliff and we stared out at the water, the moonlight on us and in that moment my heart squeezed tight. Everything was perfect. “ It’s perfect” I whispered. It’s huge head tilted up and though I knew he didn’t like it I hugged him tight stroking and nuzzling into his fur. After a while he started growling in warning and I burst out laughing. We stayed there just looking out as if we were communicating through the silence, our bodies just relaxing. We spent a good while staring at the moon before he headed back to the clearing and I waited for him. We didn’t say anything we just moved
