One-Shot Stories

It was an afternoon on Thursday, September 13. I was walking home alone from our University since my friends already went home. I was very excited to go home and deliver the news to my parents that I am the class Suma c*m Laude. Everything was going fine when suddenly, some uniformed men went near to me. Fear crept to me when one of them pointed his g*n towards me while saying, "Taas ang kamay." Afraid and confused, I raised my hands. Then I heard someone said, "Dalhin na iyan doon." I don't know where they will take me, but I just followed them as one of them held my hands firmly and painfully. We walked for a couple of minutes and reached an empty dark space and suddenly, one of them handed me a g*n. I was shaking and was about to cry as I asked them, "Sir,ano pong gagawin ko dito?" "Hawakan mo lang iyan." "Sir, parang awa niyo na po. Huwag niyo po akong sasaktan graduation po namin sa susunod na araw Sir." I was hoping for them to let me go but contradictory, they handcuffed me instead. "Sir, parang awa niyo na po. Graduation napo namin sa Linggo." Hope spread to me as I saw someone passing by. I ran as fast as I could just to go to that person as soon as I saw an opportunity to escape. "Sir, tulong po." I hopefully cried. Devastatingly, my hopes flew away as I saw that person wearing the same uniform as those who held me. "Ito na ba?" He shouted at them. He dragged me back to the place while I kept on trying to fight back. "Tulong! Tulong!" I was about to shout for help again, when I heard a loud bang from a g*n. I thought it was nothing not until I felt a warm liquid flowing from my stomach. Looking down, I saw bloods gushing out of it. I looked back at them while crying and begging. "S-sir p-parang a-awa n-niyo p-po. G-grad-duation p-po n-nam-min s-s-..." I was just about to finish my sentence when one of them shot me again, in my chest. My vision was getting blurry already. My eyes we're about to shut off. And the last thing that I heard was one of them saying. "Nasaan na ang droga? Itanim niyo na bago pa may makakita sa atin. Basta alam niyo na ang sasabihin. Nanlaban ito at isa ito sa watch list natin ng d**g pusher. Sige na tapusin niyo na at ng mailigpit na natin ito." I knew that my time has come, that's why with a weak smile and with my last breathe, I said the words that I knew I wont be able to say afterwards. "Ma, Pa, Summa c*m Laude po ako."
