Ransome
Anton is the youngest and newest addition to our clan; he is the one currently on Vivianne duty. I need him to get her to me now. “Anton, I need you to get Vivianne for me and bring her to my place. I know she will probably fight you, but you need to get her here at any cost for her safety and my sanity.”
“Okay boss. Her roommates just got home, maybe I can have them help me get her to come.” He hangs up and I hang my head trying to calm my nerves.
“Mom I can’t lose her, not when I don’t even have her yet. What am I going to do? Who is this person they say is my mate?” I was so defeated at this point. I lost my father a couple years ago and have been waiting for my mate to come, with no luck. I had a horrible relationship and break up with Onya. And now I am going to be fighting everything to save my mate, after just finding her.
Thinking about Vivianne takes me back to the night we met. When I had her in my arms, the feel of her, the taste of her. God she is perfect. I can’t wait to make her mine. The house phone rings and draws me out of my memories of her.
“Hello…”
“Ransome, we need to talk are you home?” Nikolai only ever called when there was a problem.
“Yes. My mother is here, and I have Anton picking up Vivianne and undoubtedly the other girls as well, to bring them here for her safety. I will fill you in when you get here.”
“I think I know what is going on, but I’ll be there in about five minutes.”
My mother started to get a worried look on her face again. I just shook my head at her telling her we will know what is going on in time. Anton and Nikolai pulled into the drive at the same time with a very pissed off Vivianne, Gabriella, and Priscilla in tow.
Walking out to the front steps while they filed out of the SUV, my mother leans in and whispers, “Oh boy, son. She looks pissed and before you ask how I know which one she is. Well she is the only one who looked at you when they pulled up. Also, she is the only one who looks strong enough to tame your dragon and help you lead.” My mother’s approval meant everything to me since my father passed. Looking at Vivianne now I could see a fight coming my way. I braced myself for the impact that would soon be Vivianne. Her friends filed in behind her as she waltzed up the front steps, like the queen she is.
“How dare you! After I tell you I’m not ready for this you and have one of your henchmen pick me up to stow away in your tower somewhere. I can’t believe the lengths you will take to have me. Did you ever think of asking me out, you know like on a date? To a movie or dinner or out for coffee. NO! And why is that, oh yeah because all men are the same. You just want me because I’m the unattainable, untouched, red hair and green-eyed outcast.” As she ranted on in front of everyone there, all I could think about was turning her over my knee and making her beg me to spank that attitude right out of her. Oh, the things I could plan for us after that little show she gave.
And so, I leaned into her space and told her just that. “If you don’t stop yelling at me and let me explain what is going on. Then I am going to put you over my shoulder in front of everyone and take you upstairs. Up there I will put that lovely ass of yours over my knee for being mouthy and make you beg me to f**k you.”
Her eyes go that darker forest green of arousal and she gasps as her friends snicker behind her. I catch Nikolai watching Gabriella while deep in thought. That is going to be addressed later.
“Ransome….” My mother says. Drawing me back to the matter at hand. “Why don’t we go inside and have some coffee and discuss what is going on here?”
As my mother starts the coffee, everyone files in and takes a seat at the table in the kitchen.
“Let’s introduce everyone here so we can all learn to get along for now. Hello everyone, I am Katerina. Ransome’s mother.” My mother has a way of making people feel better. And you could feel some of the tension leave the room.
“Oh, I’m Gabriella, or Ella. And this is Priscilla, or Pris, and we are Vivianne’s roommates/best friends.” She looks so sweetly at my mother then glares daggers at me with the last statement. I am not going to her, I want her.
I don’t bother introducing myself they all already know who I am. “These two men work for me at my security firm, Nikolai and Anton.”
“Ransome, I think the whole clan should be here for this, so they know what is going on and can help put this matter to rest.” Nikolai was already pulling his phone out as he made this statement. I was not in the mood to argue, I just nod in his direction and let him do what was needed.
“Vivianne, this is my mother, Katerina. I know she already introduced herself but she did raise me a little bit better than that. Mother, this is Vivianne. My angel, my mate. When she decides of course that she is ready.” I add that last part in while looking into her eyes to drive my hope and meaning across to her.
“Hello Vivianne. Ransome has told me a bit about you right before you all showed up. He didn’t have a whole lot of time to tell me everything about you, but he did mention that you teach language to high school children. So, you know English, French, German, and Russian. That is quite amazing my dear.”
“And Ukrainian.” Vivianne softly added. I could tell she didn’t like talking about herself. Her face was almost as red as her gorgeous hair. My mother on the other hand just whistled at her and laughed a little.
“Oh. She is truly amazing Ransome.” I knew that and I didn’t need my mother or anyone else in the clan telling me that.
Nikolai came back in and said the others would be here within twenty minutes. Needing to keep myself busy, I get up and ready the coffee. Getting out enough cups for everyone, the creamer, the sugar, then placing them all on the table. Sitting at the table again I chose a seat closer to Vivianne, this helps soothe the dragon, being close to his mate.
“So, I’m not really sure what to think here. And I am sure Pris is thinking the same thing. But what the hell are you guys talking about when you say clan, and mate, and safety.” Gabriella sat up, drawing everyone else’s attention, well, everyone that wasn’t already staring at her.
“You must wait your turn little sun. Once the others get here all the answers will come.” I have never heard Nikolai willingly talk to another female other than my mother and Sylvie before. Gabriella is a first and this draws my attention more than her questions do.
