Lex ran all the way home ‘what the hell was that’ Gunner was practically howling at him inside his minds eye, he was pacing, furious with Lex for leaving ‘we could have had her, we could have made her ours!’ Lex felt awful, he couldn’t sleep last night so ended up going for a walk to see if he could clear his head ready for this evening, he found himself getting closer to Anna’s apartment when the scent hit him, he could smell her arousal. At first he was furious, he thought she was with someone else, but he didn’t feel that telltale pain a wolf will experience if their mate is unfaithful to them, he also couldn’t pick up anyone else’s scent, he crept up to her apartment, just to double check, she must have been dreaming, and it was driving him wild.

He couldn’t help himself calling her, but when she ran at him after nearly pulling the door from its hinges, oh god she was glorious he thought, she surprised him with her ferocity for him, her need to have him was plain to see, and for one perfect moment he wanted to loose himself in her, forget everything, forget what he now had to do.

He got home and crashed on the bed for a few hours, how he did he didn’t know, he thought he was too wired to sleep, but he needed to be on his A-game tonight, he needed to be strong and prove he was worthy of the pack, that he was strong enough to lead them and not show any weakness to the Alphas tonight, not give them any ideas of attacking the pack.

He woke to banging on his door ‘what’ he growled, Kit came charging into his room ‘what in the name of the goddess did you do to Anna’ he was clearly furious, he would have felt how upset she was when he left her, she waited but he could hear her crying when he left, being Alpha gave you stronger senses then a normal wolf, he was getting she didn’t know that, he let Kit carry on for a couple of minutes, at the end of the day he deserved it, her lovely face when he pulled away from her will stay with him forever, how could he explain to her that he simply couldn’t help himself? ‘Kit, you need to shut the f**k up now mate’ Kit looked as though he could have carried on, but he’d heard enough, he knew what he’d done, he didn’t need to be reminded by it. ‘I don’t know what your playing at, but she deserves much more then what you are offering her at the minute, she deserves the world’ Kit walked out, not wanting to hear what he had to say. Normally Lex would never allow this, it was disrespectful, but he and Kit had been friends for as long as he could remember and he knew that he was running on the emotion he would have felt from Anna, he would have a word later when he’d calmed down.

He had to get his head together and get on with some work and prepare himself for tonight.

A few hours later he was standing in the mirror, he was wearing a black suit with a deep red shirt, he wanted to match Anna, her flower arch had arrived earlier and it was stunning, he could see that she had put a lot of effort into it and he was proud of her, even though he knew she was pissed off at him right now, he was excited to see her. Couldn’t wait to see her in that dress again.

He left his room at 6:55pm, he’d told her to arrive at 7pm and he wanted to watch her enter, the place was jam packed already and as he headed down the stairs he was greeted by a few people, Paul his Beta was waiting by the front door greeting everyone, he was gonna give him a heads up when she arrived, Kit mind linked him, ‘sorry about earlier boss’ he looked over to see Kit stood with a blonde from another pack ‘no worries, do it again and I’ll break your face’ he laughed ‘Kit just smirked, Lex knew he probably felt s**t about it, he couldn’t help it when the Luna felt strongly about something the Gamma felt it too.

At 7pm on the dot Paul mind linked Lex ‘umm boss, she’s here but you might not be happy about it…’ he looked to the door and watched Anna enter, not in the dress he sent back to her, she was wearing a full length, red, slinky number with a slit that went nearly up to her waist, it was strapless and showed her ample breasts off, her hair was styled in loose curls and she was wearing a bright red lipstick on her plump lips ‘I am gonna f**k that mouth’ Gunner said to Lex, he ignored him, Lex was fuming, he told her to wear the dress, why didn’t she obey him? He was looking forward to seeing her in that dress, Gunner didn’t care, he was too busy ogling her long leg through that slit.

Lex couldn’t take his eyes off her, but he noticed he wasn’t the only one, Brandon from the Winter wolf pack was literally drooling. Hmmm that wasn’t good.

He walked straight up to her and grabbed her by the arm pulling her into a corner ‘hey, what are you doing?’ She was not happy to see him ‘what the hell are you wearing’ he growled back at her, she took a step back ‘what don’t you like it’ she said looking up at him through her lashes she slowly moved her hands down the side of her body, stroking the sides of her breasts to her waist, Lex knew he was in trouble. He grabbed her arm and pulled her into a side room ‘would you stop doing that’ she said ripping her arm out of his grasp.

‘Why didn’t you wear the dress?’ He asked ‘I didn’t want to, that was a dress I wore when I was 18, I’m not that person anymore, so stop treating me like I am’ with that she sauntered out of room.

‘That woman’ Gunner thought shaking his head…
