Sharmi walked through the border undetected. She landed hours ago and just wanted to see for herself the rumors of the pair being mated. Her heart broke the moment she heard it. She loved Alexander and enjoyed his visits. She would give him a potion in the tea she made on each of his visits. They would make love several times before the potion wore off, always ending in the shower. When the potion wore off, they would be sitting in the living room of her cabin, and he would not remember anything. She now wanted him back. Wanted him to feel the heartbreak that she now felt. She was out for blood.
The sun was beginning to rise, which would make it easier for her to be seen. She masked her scent and, thanks to being a witch, she was able to contain the sound of her footsteps. She decided to rest while waiting for the sun to set later in the day for her to continue her spying. She remembered Alexander telling her about a tree house he used to play in while he was visiting there. As she walked, she spied the massive tree house and began walking that way. She was frozen in place upon hearing him making love to another. Already? She thought to herself. He just talked to me yesterday about finding her. I didn't want to wait until he sent me something with her scent.
My original plan was to give her a potion that would make her detest him. Want to be far from him and hopefully reject him on the spot. This would bring him back to me. Now, I must rethink this. If they have marked each other, it will be trickier. But she was a female, and he stated she was having trouble trusting him. I can play on that trust and feed her insecurities. Then lure her on my way to go with me. That I will protect her from heartbreak. After I separate her from her pack, I can give her a kill potion that is undetectable and be there to console Alexander.
I need another place to hide until sunset. I will rest and prep. I remember seeing some old cabins just across the border, but that was so far.
"Oh Alex, I love you so. I am sorry I didn't trust you at first." I heard a female voice say. I had gotten lost in thought and quickly hid behind a tree as they passed by where I was.
"Alina, you never have to worry about my loyalty to you. I will do everything I can to protect you, love you and always have you trusting me and my decisions. I love you all that I am." Alexander said back to her.
I saw the blush on her cheeks as his hand lowered down her back as they walked. I knew I would have to get rid of her fast.
Alina POV:
I started to feel uneasy in the forest as we were walking. I couldn't smell anything, but I could feel something. It must just be my nerves. I was with Alex, and I knew he would not let anything happen. But then the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. I had goosebumps everywhere.
"Are you cold? You have goosebumps all over you." Alex asked as he placed his hand on my lower back and snuggled me closer to him as we walked. I nodded my head in response. I began to feel very hot, and my wolf was right on the surface. I had never had this type of feeling before. Alex felt my unease as well. I fell to the ground. I felt as though I couldn't breathe.
"Alina, are you OK? Alina!" Alex was screaming at me, but I only heard it like a whisper. The darkness then consumed me, and I couldn't see or hear anything.
After a few moments, I awoke in a garden of beautiful lilies, surrounded by large trees. I had never seen this place before. I was alone. I began looking around frantically for someone. I started remembering that before I was here, I was scared in the forest and fell. The mating must have been too much for me. I hope my family can survive without me. I began walking along the path of the lilies, enjoying their smell. If this was Wolf heaven, it was so beautiful. As I looked down the path, I saw floating gold specks in a group headed towards me. I froze in place. I watched as it moved towards me. The flecks began multiplying and forming. Soon as it was close, I could see a woman walking toward me.
"Hello moon child." She said to me.
With a shaky voice, I replied "Hello, is this heaven?"
She let out a light giggle. It sounded like music. "No dear child. This is a place I created for you to meet me. I knew you would feel safe in these surroundings. Let me introduce myself. I am Nira, the moon goddess."
I fell to my knees instantly, bowing my head to her. "Stand and walk with me, do not bow to me." She stated.
I rose to my feet, and she grabbed my hand. Her touch provided me with a feeling of calmness and warmth, the same as my mother's. We began walking down the path in the direction she came from. "I am sure you want to know why I brought you here. I like to meet all my children that have special powers. We do not want those powers to be misused anyway. It is always best when I meet with you. To give you some guidance on your journey. There are a lot of evil still on the earth and, as you know, many of them attempt to hurt or kill us. Some even torture us and try to find how to become what we are or how to use these powers."
"I am sorry Goddess; I have never had a special power. Unless you consider my learning ability to graduate early and do many years of college." I said, confused by what she meant.
She smiled at me and touched my cheek. "Do not worry dear child. You are gifted with a special power. You are a child of the moon goddess first. Your mother was having trouble conceiving. She was chosen to carry a child with my direct bloodline. While I am not your mother and have not raised you, you are my blood child as much as you are hers. This does not mean you will rank higher than other wolves. But it means that you will have a special power given to you soon now that you have mated and marked your chosen. But you cannot even tell your chosen about your gifts. He will see the change in your wolf and will feel the sense of not asking. The same with anyone in your pack. The first power will be to protect you from harm from other entities. You will be able to sense and locate any witch, warlock, vampire, or other shape-shifting creature. While they are not all bad, you will need to decipher them. I do not want you to be feared in your pack or by others. Do not advise anyone about this power, otherwise the hunters will hear of this and come for you."
My eyes were large and dilated, she continued, as we began walking again down the never-ending path. "With this power your wolf's color changes, her size will grow, but she will be the same wolf you have known for many years now. Your two souls as one moving forward, she shall never separate from you as some other of our kind has experienced, especially during loss and death. Many, many years from now when you are here with me again. You will be like me; you will be one with your wolf."
"I do not know how to respond to being a chosen child of you. And to learn, I have abilities that I will soon learn. I want to do everything I can to make you proud as I attempt to make my parents. I vow not to use these powers as a weapon of destruction against our kind, but as a gift to protect myself and those around me, I have vowed to protect and to know the true heart of those that get close. I shall live each day to the fullest and strive to make good choices." I advised her the best I could with how much information I now had.
She kissed my forehead and enveloped me in her aura. "Go now child, return to your home."
I began coughing from how dry my mouth was. I flickered open my eyes and looked around. I was in a room at the pack hospital. The lights had been dimmed, and I could hear people talking about the door.
"Doctor, she should be awake soon? What happened to her?" It was my father's voice.
