Chapter 10 - Goddess

1880 Words
"Alpha, she arrived here carried by Alexander. He said that they were walking in the forest when the hair on her neck stood, she was covered in goosebumps and was hot to the touch. I have never in my lifetime, seen this response to a mating between two alphas. I do know that all her vitals are stable and her bloodwork came back normal as well. We just need to wait for her to awaken now." That was Doctor Vive talking back to him. So, during my meeting with the Moon Goddess, I blacked out. That would explain my symptoms. I was being pulled into her world for her to talk to me. But no one knows this. I can blame it on the mating process. I was about to mind link my parents that I was awake when I noticed the chair to my left stirring. Alex rose from the chair the moment our eyes locked. He was kissing me as though he thought he lost me. "Oh, Alina. You scared me to my core. I am so glad to see you awake now." I could sense the worry in his eyes and feel the pain he felt at the thought of losing me. I placed my hands on his hands and closed my eyes. Normally, when my eyes are closed, I will see darkness. This time it was pure green. I wonder if this collates with what the Moon Goddess had advised me. Before I worried about this, I needed to get out of the hospital. I heard the door start opening. Alex was at my side holding my hand. The doctor walked in, followed by my mother and father. My parents smiled as soon as they saw me. Alex moved to allow them to stand on each side of me. My mother hugged me tightly and whispered in my ear. "Do not scare me like that again young lady, or should I say woman." My eyes glanced over to her, and she had a smirk on her face. I began to blush. My dad gave me a kiss on my forehead. "I hope you're feeling better Princess. You scared all of us. No more woods for you for a little while." He then turned his head to Alex "or mating", he added. Alex and I both began blushing at this. "Of course not, Sir." Alex replied with a smirk. "OK, let's check out our patient and make sure she is stable and ready to go home." The doctor chimed in as he moved to my bedside and his nurse to the other side. They quickly got to work looking over me and listening to my heart and lungs. Checking all the monitors and making sure each of my fingers moved right. "Alina, I want you to stand up for me on your own and walk to the door and back. Let's make sure you're not wobbly now." The doctor said. He had the nurse assist me out of bed and stay by my side as I walked to the door and back. "I am feeling much better. I think I just got overwhelmed from mating on top of marking and all the stress before that. I think I was just mentally exhausted." I advised my thoughts to the doctor. "With every test coming back normal, I think I agree with that. Well, I feel confident in letting you go home. I do want you to take two days of rest, and no training or shifting, so we can make sure you are 100% first. Nurse, please go complete the paperwork while Alina gets prepared to leave and give it to Alex." The nurse heads out the door and as the doctor starts to leave he turns and says "If you get anymore weird feelings of possibly fainting please arrive back here ASAP so we can check vitals, blood work etc, to confirm it's not anything." and with that he left the room. I looked at my parents and Alex, who were now at my bed again. "I really am OK, I promise. It has just been an overwhelming few days." I smiled at them all. "As the doctor said, you will not be participating in training for a few days at a minimum, longer if I can help it." My dad advised, while giving me the parental appearance of 'you better not disobey me'. "I give my word I will not let her for at least a week." Alex replied confidently. "Good luck with that!" Mom chuckled as her and dad left the room. Alex helped me to get dressed and out of this gross feeling hospital gown. The nurse brought the papers, and we began walking out of the hospital. As soon as we stepped outside, Alex lifted me into his arms and carried me. I didn't fight it; I will just use this little time to think about what the Moon Goddess advised me. It had been several days of lounging around the house. I was ready to get back to training. I only had 3 more days for it to be a full week. Alex has been very careful around me, scared that even kissing me may lead me to fainting again. I used this time to complete my final exams online, watched many movies, and ate a lot of snacks. I felt out of shape and my wolf was restless. "Can we please go for a stroll around the pack house, let me get fresh air." I whined, looking at Alex, while doing my best to give him a pouty face. "Not tonight, tomorrow during the day I will take you. We can walk around the property wherever you want to go. Except for in the forest." He leaned over and pecked me on my forehead, and I made a light growl and slumped down into my seat on the couch. "I know what would make you feel better! Do you want some beef jerky to munch on to start building up protein for tomorrow?" He began walking towards the kitchen entrance. "Merena, I know you are cleaning, but do you think you could make a protein shake for Alina?" "Of course, Alpha, please allow me a few minutes. I can bring it to you if you would like?" Alex nodded and went back into the living room with Alina. "Merena will bring you a protein shake soon as well. Here is your jerky." "Who is Merena? I have not heard her name before. Is she someone's new mate?" I asked curiously. "She is a new Omega helping in the kitchen. I do not know much about her. She started earlier this week with the approval of our Alpha. " He said as he shrugged his shoulders, sitting down with me. A few minutes later, Merena brought in my protein shake. "Thank you Merena, nice to meet you. Welcome to the pack." I said politely and held my hand out to shake hers. As the future Luna of the pack, I wanted to make a good impression. "Same to you Lu..." Merena trailed. "Just Alina for now." I advised as she grabbed my hand to shake it back. My eyes fluttered shut as our hands touched. I felt off and I saw red behind my lids. Either she was not telling the truth, or she had ill intentions was my first thought. I opened my eyes again and she was walking back to the kitchen. The night moved along, and I drank my protein shake and watched movies with Alexander. It was just another calm night for me. No wandering or shifting. I have been so restless recently. My wolf was putting me on edge to go for a run with her mate. I awoke a few hours after falling asleep and was sweating. "Alexander.........Alexander........where are you?" I felt next to me on the bed and he wasn't there. I got up and went to the restroom. I looked around the room and laid back down. As I laid back down, I quickly started going back to sleep. I am sure he was just giving us space in fear that he may hurt me again. More than likely asleep in his room like he had been doing this week. I didn't like it; he needed to be next to me. The mating and the bond we shared was like a magnet to me. I needed him whether I wanted him or not. Of course, I wanted him though. I woke up again to the sun coming through peeking through the curtains. As I looked over at the clock it was 11:00am already. I was drenched in sweat. 'Oh no', I thought to myself. I am not ready to go into heat yet. I am not ready; I am not ready for a family just yet with all the new responsibilities I could hear laughing outside the door but could hear no words. I got up and started moving towards the door, putting my ear up to it to try and hear the conversation. I heard Alex's voice, but I couldn't make out what was being said. That is when I heard the gut-wrenching laugh of a she-wolf. Why was he making another laugh? I walked back to bed and hid under the covers. Being mated makes me super jealous at anything and I can't take it. I need to release this pent-up energy and allow myself some breathing room. It is all too much in a short amount of time. I decided to get fresh air on my own today. I couldn't go out my bedroom door with them in the hall. I opened the balcony doors and allowed the fresh air to make over me. I have been sheltered this week. The light wind blew my hair around and it felt amazing. 'Let's jump!' Kyleen voiced to me. 'We will shift while in the air so that we can land without injury' she stated while pushing herself forward trying to take control of us. 'OK, OK, you win. We need a good run, and fresh air will always help us clear our minds.' I enticed myself as I walked to the edge of the balcony, climbing up on a chair and, without thinking, I jumped. As I fell to the ground, I was transformed into Kyleen. She took over and we were running now on all fours. It felt so good to let her have control. We were running through the woods when all a sudden, I collapsed. As I collapsed, I transformed back. I blacked out again. I awoke to the sound of rustling through papers. I was very confused. My ears let me begin to hear first. My eyes were so heavy, so hard to open them. I tried to move my arms but couldn't, it was like they were tied down. I finally started opening my eyes, the light was very bright. "Alex, turn the lights off. They are so bright." my face was scrunching as well. The lights were shut off and my eyes finally started resting and adjusting to the dimness of the room. "Where are we? What happened? All I remember is running through the woods."
