Chapter 11 - Betrayal

"Oh Alina, I am not Alexander. But I can tell you that you are not at home. You are here with me, and you will not be leaving this place." I heard a woman's voice say. I couldn't tell where it was coming from. I was the only one in the room. "Do not worry dear, you will not be in pain for long."

"What! What are you talking about?" I was angry. I did not know where I was or who was talking and it was frustrating me. 'Kyleen what is going on', I began asking my wolf, hoping she would have some information for me. She wasn't responding to me at all, and it was beginning to really get to me.

Soon a woman began appearing at the end of my bed.

Alexander POV:

I checked on Alina at 10am this morning and she was still sleeping. I didn't want to wake her, hoping that she could get a lot of rest today, as I promised her, we would go out on the grounds today. It had been all week that I have been able to keep her in the house, and shockingly only with her whining a little bit. I have never seen her so weak as I did when we took her to the doctor. I really hope that I was not the cause of all the stress in the days prior to our mating. To be honest, I was still really scared about her and I being mates, not that it was a bad thing. Just that I am not ready to take over a pack and leave my family. Normally, the Luna goes to Alpha's pack, but as she was the only heir to her pack, it was only normal with me having a brother to heir to Alpha that I went to hers. Growing up together, I already had a love for her, so when the Moon Goddess blessed me with her as a mate, I knew that she would be a strong Luna. I will fix this and not cause her any stress anymore. Alina and I can be happy and grow up together. They already have a strong Beta in place that will be able to fulfill our duties for us to go to our parents' pack a few times a year. Especially when we have pups.

I begin to ascend the stairs with a tray in hand filled with roast beef sandwiches, fruit slices and cheese cubes. I am hoping to strengthen her before we go out today. I can't fail her anymore. I need to be there for her and allow her to be strong as well and not hold her back.

I opened the door and felt a draft of air hit me. I set the tray on the table in front of the sofa and ran to close the balcony doors. I began walking to her bed and I did not see her. The bathroom door was open and upon checking, I did not see her there either. I take a deep breath and start to see if I can sense her. I did not feel her presence. I try to link her and it's as if I am hitting a wall.

I ran to Alpha's office, almost shifting with how upset I was that I could not find her anywhere. "Alpha, Alina is missing! I cannot find her anywhere." I was panting as it came out.

"Slow down Alexander. What do you mean you can't find my daughter anywhere? The last time she disappeared she was hospitalized after. If anything has happened to her, I will hold you responsible for this mess you have caused her. Why didn't you keep the necklace on? It would have been better for all of us if you had made it a slow progression. She knows Alpha's are different with their mate bonds, she would have accepted it better. She would not keep running away from her home." Luna glared at me as she was screaming.

"I promise I didn't do anything to cause her distress this time. I was letting her rest well before I took her out for a walk around the grounds today. I took sandwiches to her room for us to have after I woke her up. When I walked into the room, the balcony doors were open, so I........OH MY GOD! She couldn't have."

We all ran to her room. I threw open the balcony doors, and her smell was still there. I ran to the edge and looked down. There was no way she could survive a jump this high.

"She wouldn't have jumped on her own and survived. Call the doctor. If she did, she would have to be in the infirmary."

"This will not be the first time she has jumped." Luna started. "With such a strong wolf, if she lets Kyleen take control, she can survive it easily. And with being down all week, this has been the most difficult time for her as she has to be exploring."

I saw Alpha Conri's eyes glaze over. I hope he brought back news of her when he returned to our conversation.

"She is not in the infirmary and none of the warriors have seen her. They are beginning a search party now. Daciana, please remain here and search the house for any signs of where she may have gone. Alex, you will be joining the search along with myself."

Before anyone could speak further, I ran out the balcony doors and jumped. I had to find her and quickly. I know she left the room within the last couple of hours. Alpha Conri was at my side instantly. We were in our wolf form, running as my nose was following the ground to keep up with her scent. Within 30 minutes, we reached a tree and her scent stopped. I shifted back so I could talk with Alpha Conri.

"Her scent stops here. Someone else was with her. Can you tell the scent of another around us right now?"

"Honestly Alexander, I do not scent anyone but her right now and her scent is faint. If she was carried by anyone, there is only one explanation. They had to hide their scent. Which is highly dangerous as we will never know who they are or what they want."

"I know it's unheard of unless it's an emergency situation. I have a witch friend back near my pack, who is the one that made the necklace and surely she can know of a way to help us find her or find out who was here."

"Get her here now if you trust her. We need all the assistance we can as soon as possible."

We shifted back to our wolf and started back to the house.

Shamari POV:

My cell began ringing in my pocket. As I pulled it out and looked at the screen, it was him. I knew it wouldn't take him long to see she was missing. Now to put him off to complete my process. I need to extract her scent so that way I can get him to mark me, and he will not miss her when she is completely gone.

"I shall return in a few minutes, sweet Alina. Do not fight the restraints as they are made of silver and you will wear yourself out very quickly." I then quickly left the room.

"Alexander, my dear friend. How is everything going with the Silver Moon Pack?"

"I need you here as quickly as possible. Alpha Conri and Luna Daciana's daughter Alina is missing. She jumped from her balcony 2 stories and, from what we can tell, she made it about 30 minutes into the forest before her scent stopped. We think someone masked their scent and took her from there. You are the only one I know that can help us find her quickly."

"I will, of course, come help you. I can't leave until tonight due to finishing some important business of my own right now. While you await my arrival, please make sure that her room goes untouched so that her scent stays strong. If you can mark the area, you tracked her scent. We need to keep other wolves out of the area as well. I will leave tonight."

"Thank you so much Shamari. It means a lot that you would do this for our family."

Just the call I was expecting. Now I have till nightfall to complete my business with Alina and then go and see the family. I walked back into the room and saw her struggling. That is fine with me. It will make her fight the blood loss less. I need to make her as weak as possible without killing her.

I began placing more silver straps across her legs and arms so that she could not fight me by inserting the needle into her arm. I needed enough blood from her to carry her scent onto me to have Alexander mark me as his mate. And Alina would be marked by the man I am selling her too. If he had just not removed his necklace and let me have her scent before, we could have been together with no interference. It is not unheard of for a wolf to be mated to a witch. While a rarity, it normally happens due to lingering scent and the bond taking over our hearts once we are mated.

"I almost have enough blood now, Alina. Sampson will be marking you tonight so that Alexander feels the bond break and when I swoop in smelling like you, he will not think otherwise, making love to me yet again as he has done for many years. Yet, this time he will mark me as his and I will carry his pup. And you, my dear child, will be a rogue Luna who met her fated mate and ran away from home. Before finally dying a young death from your poor health."

All I heard Alina respond with was moans of agony. I hope that she will feel the mate bond break with me mating with Alexander tonight. But I could not take a chance on Sampson waiting it out. He lost his poor mate several years ago while giving birth. He lost the pup as well in the process and he went mad without them. He came to me to die, but I made him a deal for a Luna mate within a year. He was excited when I called him yesterday. As I unhooked the IV needles once I had her 4th bag of blood, I injected her with wolfsbane so she could not fight back with Sampson until she was bonded to him. Between the silver and the wolfsbane, she will be unconscious for almost 24 hours. I had Delvion here to watch over her while I went to the forest tonight.

I picked up my phone to call Alexander and let him know of my delayed arrival. Blaming it on plane maintenance that needed to occur and that as soon as it landed, I would be there. He told me he would be there himself just to message him before the airplane left. What a perfect setup. Alexander, their perfect future Alpha, would be picking up another female all alone. I would use the scent to get him aroused. Once we begin mating, I will tell him to mark me again. Yet, instead of her, it would be me.

I took some of her blood with me to spray all around, not enough to leave a trace, but enough that we could continue picking up her scent and tracking her movements. In a few short hours he would be all mine.
