Episode 1
"Do you, Mr Ricardo Alexander Adamos take thee, Miss Leilani Rose Nightingale, as your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until parted by death?" The priest asked the question that they both had dreaded, this wasn't how it was supposed to go, this wasn't how their lives were supposed to be like but right now standing on the altar they had no choice in the matter.
"I do." He said as he reluctantly slid the ring on her slightly trembling hand, he wondered why she would be feeling apprehensive, she was the one who had agreed to this farce of a marriage, she was just like the rest of the girls, just like her. Despite that though he had to admit she was breathtakingly beautiful in her wedding gown but he refused to dwell on that, there was no point being beautiful when you're ugly on the inside and clearly she had married him for the money, to pay off her uncle's debt yes, but she was still here for money regardless.
His parents had been the one to persuade him using all sorts of tactics particularly emotional blackmail to get him to agree to marrying the girl, but the one thing that had made him cave was that his kid needed a mother in his life, he was a billionaire busy nearly 24/7, any nannies he had hired had been either gold-diggers, after him or had shouted at his admittedly mischievous child and he couldn't have that so when his parents had told them that someone, who owed them millions of pounds, had a niece that would marry him and in return his debt would be taken off, they had jumped at the chance to find someone for him to marry and now here he was at the alter, a place he had thought he would never be after what had happened with her. Inside, he reminded himself he was doing this for his son, who was at home right now, he didn't want to bring him here and for him to ask what was going on, then he had to explain what was happening and he didn't think he was ready to tell him that he now had a new mother.
"Do you, Miss Leilani Rose Nightingale take thee, Mr Ricardo Alexander Adamos, as your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until parted by death?" He asked and immediately tears came to her eyes, she didn't want to do this but she had no choice. She looked at her uncle in the crowds who was glaring at her with the threat in his eyes, and she knew without a doubt that he would go through with it, he would kill her friends without a second thought, he wouldn't get his hands dirty but being a gambling man, he had people that owed him money that would do anything to pay off their debt including killing people she cared about just to make her do what he wanted. Her best friends were here with her, Leilani as her bridesmaid and Lucas as a family guest, they both knew exactly what was going on, she never kept a secret from them and they had repeatedly told her that they were not worth this but she knew had the roles been reversed they would have done the same thing for her but they still argued to no avail, she was adamant and they couldn't do anything to change her mind so instead they told her they would always be there for her through anything and she appreciated that so much.
She had actually planned to run away when she had found out what her uncle had wanted, she had everything sorted but the day she was going to run, he had threatened her beforehand, said that if she even thought of messing up at the wedding, then he would have her friends killed and her plan immediately went down the drain, she refused to put them in danger for her freedom. She hadn't known that in her thoughts, she had hesitated for a few seconds and she nearly hissed at the bruising grip on her hands the man had, clearly a warning to accept already and with a slightly break in her voice she said, "I do," before she slid the ring on his finger.
"Now with the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride." The priest said and she stilled, she had forgotten this part and when he lifted the veil, she tried to control her tears as he inched closer to her but the minute they were supposed to collide, she turned her face away at the last second and his lips met her left cheek as a tear slid down her right which she hastily swiped away. It was clear from the grip on her hand as they walked back down the aisle that he was not pleased but she just couldn't do it, she had only kissed one man in her life and she just couldn't bring herself to let this random guy kiss her, she had literally only met him today at this very wedding and he was admittedly very handsome, he had a rugged look to him, mostly because of his hair and it made him look even more gorgeous but for her that meant nothing until she sees what the guy's really like, she would never judge a book by its cover after what had happened to her.
