Alex's POV
“It's settled, isn't it?” Zino asked as soon as I got off the call with Vera.
“It is…” I sighed.
I don't know what I was expecting, maybe I kind of wanted her to reject the idea of us meeting us so this won't all like the plan was working too well but obviously it's Vera, she'd agree to see me anytime of the day.
But I was still uncertain about the whole thing, especially the location she gave me. It wasn't her usual meetup spot.
“What's wrong?” Zino asked , noticing the way I was acting.
“Nothing.. it's just, well, I feel like something is off.”
I tapped my hands lightly on the desk as I stared at him or rather through him, trying to get myself to not think too much about the what ifs and the whys.
