From Pain To Power : De Santos Princess

PROLOGUE It was a rainy day , when I had just came back from school . I just passed the lounge and went straight to my room and changed into something warm . I went back to the lounge and found my step father , mother and my step brother . “Good day family” I said while I sat down . “hey , it's a good thing you came here . We wanted to tell you guys something” my step father said . What did they want to tell us ? I was patiently waiting for them to talk cause they seem to be excited . “me and your mother we are going to a vacation just the two of us . I want you guys to behave then since it will only be the two of you”says my step father . Vacation ? Out of nowhere ? Leaving me with Mike ? “Amanda please do not bother your brother” says mother “I'm not in kindergarten mother” “Good we're going for two weeks straight” Two weeks ? “we will be fine . That I assure you”says Mike looking at me We ? who is we ? “We are leaving tomorrow morning” “I will be in my room” I said getting up . They can't just wake up and decide to go to vacation . On top of that to leave me with Mike ! Mike ? Out of all people , it would have been better to leave me with Mrs Rodriguez next door . She's such a sweet darling and she's old . All of her kids are working but they do visit her . I locked my door and started doing my homeworks . After an hour I was done , I took my headphones and listened to some music . When they say music is therapy . I believe them cause it kind of heals many people even those who are not able to speak up , just like me . . . . . . “Amanda wake up , it's time for dinner!” says my mother knocking on the door “Amanda !” “Amanda O'Connell get your big head to the dinning table right this moment !!” I woke up when I heard my mom shout . I guess it must have heard her when the song ended . Cause I had slept with my headphones on . I woke up and dragged my self to open the door . She looked at me serious as hell . “don't you know it's time for dinner now ?” she says “i had fallen asleep mother” “come downstairs for dinner” “i'm not hungry” “you didn't eat anything when you came back from school” “it's because I was not hungry” “i'm not asking you i'm telling you come down” She left . My mother can be very difficult sometimes like why can't she see that i'm not hungry . I banged the door on my way out to the dinning hall . “Good that you came and joined us” says my step father “as if I had a choice” I mumbled that line . “I heard that” says Mike We ate in comfortable silence , but I couldn't help to feel uncomfortable by Mike when he would steal glances at me . He made me feel uncomfortable . “I'm done.” I said getting up . “the dishes ?” “it's Mike's turn” I left the dining table
